I got my S21 last week and just upgraded to 12. I'm pleasently surprised how much Android has changed since I last used Android with the Note 8. I'm happy with my S21 and the color palette options are neat

I am not a fan of themes but the suggested color palettes that match the wallpaper is interesting! I also like the new privacy update with green light. That storage thing has been around for a long time though. This is a good One UI update!

One major update that wasn't mentioned was eSIM support is now available for the S21. We finally have the ability for dual SIM in the US when using one physical and one eSIM.

eSim has been in Samsung phones for a quite time i think Not too sure but atleast in india

@@Baigan_OP Unfortunately in the US we don't get the duel SIM S series phones and eSIM wasn't available on the S21 until Android 12 with UI4. We still don't get 2 physical SIM slots, so the ability to use 2 SIMs wasn't possible on the US based handsets until now. The only catch is one has to be eSIM.

@@scotttracy9333 I use my physical SIM for ATT and eSIM on Tmo. I've also added my Fi account as eSIM since you can keep inactive eSIM loaded. You can only use 2 at a time and one of those 2 has to be physical but I also added my Fi number that I can enable instead of Tmo for international travel. Seems to work well so far.

Probably the most useful that I definitely love is having the extra dim feature, since I've been using Blue Light Filter App a long time to make my eyes safer, since I don't like the colors produced by the eye comfort shield. I hope it's coming to One UI Core too not just the One UI. Thank You Miss Ella, I definitely like the highlights!

You didn't need an extra app for blue light filter, there is one already in the settings since android 10 or 9, i think you can also put it in the drop down menu. Edit: Since Android 11 it's called eye comfort shield and it's still there in Android 12

I would say that, as a Iphone, Samsung user, since One UI 3.0, samsung UI have aesthetically on par, if not superior to that of iPhones. I'm using Iphone 13 and Samsung note 10, and I have to say that there is nothing on Iphone that makes me wanna put my note away.

@@mikevenecio6312 I never understood the fascination with iPhone anyway. They all look the same and the iPhone doesn't really do anything. My nephews have the latest iPhones but are always using my Android (Note 20 Ultra). It's beginning to drive me crazy. When I ask them why they are always on MY phone, it's because "we can't do that on iPhone." I just don't get it. 🤷🏽‍♀️

@@Childfree334 I think Iphones were started as superior smartphones but as time goes by, they are branded as fashion styles and considered a social status symbol. Believe it or not, I bought my Iphone 12 pro and later 13 because of their look but I'm still using my SS note at home. It's beyond my imagination that in this land of freedom, people are still doing things because they don't want to be grouped differently.

I also got S21 recently like in November and i have got the update in late December and i really like some new features like More customization ~ more roundy experience and also widget organizations, new updates are kinda like an iphone operating system you know.~ btw it was kinda bugging when i updated the system and like for 3-4 days i was facing kinda cutting off/chopping off when i open apps and stuff i guess its normal~~😅

It was very buggy for me as well when I got it in november, but an extra update I got in december fixed most of the issues I was having. Battery life also got improved a bit

One thing you missed, Samsung's VR Headset software stopped working, since they were leasing the software from Oculus, & Samsung ended it's lease, ending the use of Samsung's VR Goggles (2 months after I bought mine)

You can set the strength of extra dim in the settings. On the Tab S7+, it's set to the minimum level which dim the screen less if enabled. On the S21, it's set to the maximum by default. I find it's a little bit too strong.

I was wondering how to fix issues with my S21, same as yours, with the screen always freezing whenever Facebook Messenger pops up. The screen will be completely frozen for 1-2 secs, unresponsive to touches and swipes. But only respond when swiping notification panel or swiping from the bottom of the screen. It causes serious lags, I swear...

Also if you add the shortcut Sensors off, it turns off all the sensors on your Samsung Galaxy device including the camera mic everything handy feature when you are in meetings.

One thing Samsung UI 4.0 did not change was the design of the icon /display panel .In the Android 12 ,it's rectangular shape compare to circle on .I wanted the new icon ,but samsung did not change it :(

Just updated to 12 last night on my Note 20 Ultra with AT&T. Was over 2gb download. The update for this phone doesn't change the UI much. The brightness has changed, but everything else is just "smoother?"
