This is so true I kept telling myself not to eat when I was hungry at night because I was taught if you eat late you will gain weight. I didn't realize I'm not eating enough. Now I eat when I'm hungry and I have lost weight and doing so much better

@latashabynum9961 Yes. Not eating can lead to nutritional deficiencies and derail your weight loss efforts. Glad you were able to move your weight loss forward.

I have lost 80 lbs in the past year by eating only when I am hungry. The trick is to KNOW when you are hungry. Cravings, desire for a taste blast, the allure of comfort food as a psychoactive drug, boredom, celebration, depression; all of these are imposters that impersonate real hunger. Know when you are actually hungry and then eat. The weight will come off.

@@bradleydawson9043 Congratulations! That's great. I just posted a video mentioning the body mind connection. Being in tune with body. Our body tells us what we need and how much. I also talked about using food to manage emotional stress. There are other factors. Sugar and chemical additions are real things. In our program Beet Hypertension - No MEDS we help our clients regain their natural taste buds in order to regain that body mind connection. Also we focus on removing stress more so than managing it. Much success to you on your health journey!

I am 74 years old and I'm on day 2 of eating raw. I learned how to make delicious smoothies and i love BIG salads. I really enjoyed listening to you and feel encouraged. I'm still on a learning curve with plans of eventually cooking but, not right now. I'm still figuring it all out. Ex: baked potato? I'm used to having it swimming in butter and sour cream, so I'll just stay away from that for now.

So excited for you! I think you are off to a good start. Raw food is a great detox and a great start to a vegan lifestyle. When eating raw eating enough calories and variety is important. Also it can be easy to overeat on nuts. Something to keep in mind. Wish you the best on your journey. When you decide to eat a baked potato one idea is season with some garlic and/or onion powder, cayenne powder and top with some mashed avocado instead of butter. If you’re trying to lose weight and are plateauing or have a health condition where you are avoiding fat I would eliminate the avocado.

"Enthusiasm without knowledge produces chaos." -Proverbs All changes should be analyzed for the impacts of the proposed change BEFORE implementing tye change to include changes in diet. Even the "educated" have more to learn. Learning = Change in behavior AFTER application of theory. Explore the breadth of dietary changes before implementing the change; learn from trial and error, adjust as needed, wash, rinse, repeat.

Thank you for viewing my channel. I like the expression of your thoughts though you’re not being direct with u want me or the viewers to understand. I think you made a comment to my response to a viewer who spoke about eating too much. Is that what you are referring to? Truely Plant Based is a plant based health coaching practice. We do not diagnose, treat or prescribe any treatment for clients and anyone who is considering working with us or any other health coach should consult with their doctor before starting any new exercise or wellness program. I have personally overcome pre-hypertension n other chronic diseases and help caregivers who are combating pre-hypertension n hypertension by adopting an elevated whole food plant approach. We do so using our signature program “Beet Hypertension - No MEDS. There is an application and intake process to see if the client is suitable for our program and we for them. We evaluate the individual’s health and wellness goals to see if the program is a right fit. Every person has individualized needs and circumstances and they are always considered before we decide to work with them. Providing support, skills and education to help our clients achieve their desired health and wellness goals is our mission.

@truelyplantbased Hello TPB. Thank you for sharing the detailed reply. My comment is in reference to people who change their diet to improve their health without knowing what "health" is, what is negatively affecting their health and how, what foods would correct their conditions, and how the behaviors that contributed to their mental and physical conditions have been influenced. Many are eager to make a change; most do not know what, when, how, or why to change. This desire can produce enthusiasm (eager actions) without knowledge (preparation for exploration), which, if not properly managed, can result in chaos (damage or ineffective solutioning), possibly fostering disappointment and relapse back into the behaviors they were attempting to correct, to the benefit of big pharma. I support efforts to get Veg-u-cated instead of medicated. I hope that was clear-er.

@@Still-Learning Yes. I totally agree with you. When trying to get healthy people are genuine in their desire to make lifestyle changes. There are two questions we need to ask when embarking on such changes. Most people ask the first question “What do I need to do?,” but what they often fail to ask is the second question “Who do I need to become?” Making permanent “healthy” lifestyle changes requires overcoming those limiting beliefs that keeps us in that vicious unhealthy cycle. Developing a different mindset which can take some time for most of us. We try to support, educate and encourage that process in our program. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Very insightful. Enjoy your weekend.

Hi, my name is Angie I recently had a heart stent put in three weeks ago and I am going whole food plant-based diet to prevent any further problems in my arteries. I feel as though it won’t be a problem for me to do this because I love healthy food. The only problem is not really knowing what I cann and can’t eat with my current health condition or what I should eat to help my current health condition. If anybody has any advice, they could give me I would really appreciate it. Thank you guys so much.

Thank you for this video, I recently became WFPB, the problem I have is that I’m hungry unless I eat excessive amounts of nuts and I’m trying to limit fats. I’ve tried eating beans, pulses, whole grains but I’m hungry again in a few hours. I don’t want to eat all day long and I want to limit fats of any kind, do you have suggestions that I can try? Thank you

I would need more information. I would have to know what you’re eating. Also I don’t if there’s any health issues you are dealing with that could be contributing to the problem. You say you want to eliminate all fat but we need healthy fats in order for the body to function properly, however, it does sound like you’re eating too many nuts.

Four ideas, to make filling meals, but not overdoing the fat content. A carrot, a chopped avocado and a few walnuts and a few pumpkin seeds added to a salad makes it much more filling. It doesn’t then need a creamy or oily dressing. Just a drizzle of balsamic, a squeeze of lemon and a few drops of olive oil. If you like beetroot, buy it pre cooked vacuum sealed. It’s cheap. Open it, slice into a jar, add 1 tsp of muscovado sugar, 3 tablespoons of cider vinegar, a generous pinch of chilli and a pinch of salt. Stir, add a lid. It keeps in the fridge for a week. Use it as an extra side dish when you think a meal needs something extra on the side, or on the top. It goes with almost anything. Steamed mixed mash. 3 parts potato, 1 part carrot makes a great mash. You can add any third root veg you like, parsnip, swede, celeriac all work well. Great low fat side dish, so you can make the thing that goes with it more indulgent. Serve with Drizzle of olive oil and squeeze of lime on your broccoli. Butter bean, roast red pepper and mushroom in an onion and cashew butter sauce etc. Keep trying new things with lentils. There are some wonderful recipes that are easy. You will find your own go to favourites with practice. The rule is, if you think it’s bland or has a texture you don’t like, don’t do it again. One of my current 6 lentil favourites is a mixed mash shepherds pie. The base under the mash is brown lentils, onion, sweet red pepper, black pepper, all cooked in tamarind. (Don’t buy preprepared pulp, look for soft tamarind block, it’s easy. You cut a chunk off the block , put it into a coffee mug, add boiling water, let it stand, finely sieve, put the pips back in the mug add a bit more water, zap in microwave, sieve again, discard pips, use the tamarind juice as your cooking sauce for the lentils.
