I mean she's only 29 so of course she doesn't look aged, she's still young despite her long career It's because she debuted so young (she was only 15 while her other group members were 19, 20, 23 at debut) so even though she is a 2nd gen idol she is still very young now. 29 might not seem young to some fans (or 4th gen idols) who are currently only tweens or early teens themselves, but late 20s is still young and Suzy in particular truly quite young for a 2nd gen idol - she's even younger than some _3rd gen idols._ For example, she is younger than BTS' Jin, Red Velvet's Irene, Mamamoo's Solar and Moonbyul, GOT7's Mark Tuan, etc. despite being from the generation _before_ them. For extra context, these 3rd gen idols are not only already older than her but also debuted 3-4 years _after_ her. She's very young for 2nd gen. So she doesn't look like she ages because she hasn't really aged. She's still quite young, despite her nearly 15 year career. She does look different from when she debuted, but from 18 or so until now she looks the same. Which is not crazy, because she's still young. 😊

That’s because new kpop fans are obsessed with beauty. I’m not saying the average kpop idol in the 2nd and 3rd Gen were a little uglier, but they were all above average at least, while kpop idols now have to be the best of the best looking, unless you’re good at dance. Basically the industry has always been focused on visuals, but idols on average imo are better now than before, mainly because you could get away with it if you were a really good singer, and it’s pretty well known that idols from the 2nd and 3rd Gen probably have the best vocals. -mainly because a lot of them trained for years, unlike idols now who if visually are there, will debut within 1-2 years, even with weak vocals since songs aren’t focused on amazing singing anymore. And you can take Somi’s words for it too, she said herself, that she would’ve liked to have taken training more seriously since once you’re a idol, getting actual training time to get better at skills is almost impossible due to their schedule. So yeah, if you’re just gonna mass produce idols and focus on mainly dancing, why not just make them beautiful to take away from their bad singing? And I’m also not saying this with any hate to any of the idols who debuted since the 4th Gen, but I’m just stating how they are definitely not more talented in singing, and alongside them having shorter training periods to debut younger, means if you’re gonna have weak vocalists and rappers, why not just make groups full of visuals?

You are correct due to Gen2 starting January 2007 all the way to December 31 2011. Eugene is from SM Entertainment which had girl groups from Gen 1 1997-December 31 2006 Gen 2 January 2007 December 31 2011 Gen 3 January 2012-December 2017 and Gen 4 January 2018-present. The way that jyp achieves this is get the youngest as the visual unless changed.

Tzuyu’s (子瑜) name is pronounced something like _tsu-wee_ both in Korean and Japanese. Or, simply say the English “chewy” which is still acceptable to many. Copy-and-paste it on your favorite translation app to hear the Chinese pronunciation. It sounds something like _tsu-yee._ Anyway, I like them all but if I have to choose one, I’ll choose Suzy. 💕

Or if you’re familiar with IPA, they are _ts_ and _y,_ respectively. If not, just copy-and-paste 子瑜 in Google Translate and listen to the original Chinese pronunciation.
