I have a pair of the Alden boots they did with J Crew a while back. Tan swede with crepe soles. They have worn well and are still quite new looking after some 10 years (or more).

Found this video while looking for conditioning reverse chamois. I was a manager at Unionmade for 6 years, and accrued a few Alden make-ups. We mostly stuck to color code 8, but it’s awesome seeing ravello Indy’s.

stridewise ! can you please have a special on deciphering the date codes and the changes to logos, changes in linings etc. so we can better date our Aldens.....are my boots from 88 or 98 or 2008 and so on....looking at the stitching, the sole, the heel stack, the lining, etc. can we do a special on that ?

Nice river and boots. I think cordovan leather is highly prized due to its rigidity (won’t stretch but still soft and flexible for a long time). Hence considered if your leather jacket is stretch or not, which is why makers produced it in patches to minimize the long term stretch look. I could be wrong though but Cheers!

I have the Leather Soul chamois and the colour no8 Indy with dark trim with the commando half sole. Hmm 2 outta 5!!! Not bad! Cheers!

Lots of Alden hate these days. I just picked up my first pair of Indy Boots recently, and I must say that I dislike taking them off at the end of the day. They are insanely comfortable. The truebalance last is absolute perfection (for me).

@@ralph7077 Honestly, it's a long list what Alden does worse than other high end makers, so I'm gonna reger you to Rose Anvil youtube channel and look up the "Indiana Jones boot" video. He tells you the good and bad and honestly the boot is mostly bad for almost $700.
