@@bahayalniz Can you put keyframe in premiere? It's the only reason I'm not using it because I want to do a moving picture, let say that picture will move from bottom to top and that requires keyframes to do it. I had to do in adobe animate for that and then you have to transfer them into premiere which is super time-consuming. A step 6. For a Mac with a FireWire or Thunderbolt port connect a SSD drive like a LaCie with either port and put the DavinciResolve library and source media on it. It separates program I/O from data I/O via a fast port. Works like magic. You already made an excellent movie about moving libraries just a while ago. Thanks for that by the way, was a saver.

Great video but you need a lot more optimizing options than this, so you can be able to work on ANY Laptop like you mentioned. i have a really old i3 laptop with 4 GB RAM and intel HD 5500u graphic card. only with the options you mentioned i can't do anything, still laggy. but when i: - change the timeline format to 720p in the option bar (only for editing, when exporting i set it back to full hd), - video format to 720p and 8 bit video depth - proxy mode to quarter resolution then, it runs like a beast!

Other editing software plays smoothly h264 in my laptop. But davinci resolve has very laggy playback. That's means it is not optimize as others.
@andyq9669
@andyq9669 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah - without tweaking any settings I get much smoother 4k H264 playback on Premiere Pro CC than Resolve 16 on the same system, and even after generating optimised media Resolve isn't quiet as smooth. That's when it's not throwing up "out of GPU memory" errors every 30 seconds... I know I've got a crappy 2g GPU on the laptop, but that's twice the memory of what's used in this video, so things seem to have gone backwards with Resolve 16 (I'm presuming this video is V15?).

I have 2 questions: 1. How do you go back to the original settings without affecting the color grade or edit? Because after I generated optimized media the playback window became very small and I had to zoom in so it can fit. 2. Does this affect the export settings? For example, if the file is 4k and I want export it in 4k, does this lessen the quality in any way?

I also change my "video format" to the lowest one I could find in the "video monitoring" section, I put the same frame rate that I have on the "playback frame rate" with my "video format". It help me a lot and I guess you have to repeat this steps everytime you see that the program is running slow. I am beginner at editing, this night I started to watch tutorials and I practised editing but it was really difficult and slow because I am using my brothers old laptop that he gave me last year. He bought it in 2013, it's an asus gamer laptop but it's not the best for games and programs these days. Finally next week my first camera will arrive and I was so dissappointed after stuggling with davinci resolve today. It's kinda a dream to me filming and editing videos since my childhood. I will definitly try these tips soon.

Thank you thank you thank you!!! For the whole time I have been editing my project I was so frustrated with the choppy playback. I am new to editing and Resolve and didn't realise it was because of the color grading. You should have seen my face when I watched it back after following your tutorial and it was smooth for the first time!! Legend
