The best thing about Unison Audio has been finding out which creators/youtubers have integrity and care about their followers. There are only a few creators I still watch, Unison helped me pick out the bad actors/shills.

What's worse than releasing a broken plugin on subscription? Removing any traces of it and pretending like it never happened. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I haven't seen Kyle beats address the problems with Sandbox at all. No apologies or updates whatsoever. Basically just ripped a giant rotten egg fart in the beatmaking community space and dipped. Plugin development is difficult, even the big companies have plenty of issues. No shame in messing up. Just own it and fix it.

The worst plugins have a pattern: Putting more effort (probably way more money too) in marketing than in creating the plugin itself. If they are trying too hard to sell it, that's probably a sign they're covering for the product. The plugin should speak for itself, and that's why most plugins have demos.

SubLab XL actually has a setting for you to turn off full velocity but it's silly that it doesn't follow your velocity by default for the people that want it and wanna do stuff like 808 rolls. i normally just use full velocity most of the time anyway though

Some of my favorite plug-ins are from Glitchmachines, Puremagnetik, and Unfiltered Audio. There's a lot of amazing tools out there if you know what to look for. Thinking about the available tools makes me really excited about making things.

RX is something I use for my work every day, and for the podcasts I work on, I was so hoping that I wouldn't have to keep using Descript. Maybe in RX11, who knows with iZotope anymore. Don't even get me started on Unison Audio. It's the MLM of the audio plugin world.

I cant stand Taetro anymore. He hardcore defends the unison audio promotions too and made claims that their products changed the way he produces. Soon as I could read his vibe, I couldn't unsee it. He reminds me of when you meet the neighbor kid and you are really stoked cause you find out they have the same interests as you, but you go over to their house to play and they be like I don't really like other people touching my stuff.

I totally agree with your analysis on Sublab XL. 50$ is a rob for this upgraded version. That said, I ain't too mad about it as I got it for 20$ when it 1st came out. 🤷🏾‍♂️

i’m not overly mad with sub lab XL because I like some of the new samples and I’m a simpleton and I find the UI pleasant 😂 but that’s pretty much all they even added. Which definitely doesn’t justify the price and honestly confuses me why they didn’t just make it a normal expansion for Sublab. Kind of makes it look like they just made Sublab XL its own thing so they could charge us more money for a new plugin that is basically the same lol. The new expansions do sound pretty good too but overall the price hike seems disproportional. I’d say it’s still a quality useful plug-in but more just a matter of the company charging too much to upgrade, which seems to be a very common theme nowadays

Something that seems super easy and trivial from a customer perspective can and regularly does take weeks if not months to get working right. For example, just being able to add extra effects and drag and swap them around took 6 months of work...anyway good news is that SubLab XL is in a great place to keep adding in new stuff to. New Fx coming in the next update 🦾

Remember it's #5 on this list. The very bottom of the worst, and I'm talking about the upgrade. The competition was pretty stiff this year as far as plugins go. So it was pretty hard to figure out what to put at #5. What would you put there instead?

Done I'm not saying you just randomly picked this to make up the numbers, as I know you already gave it a negative review...something I couldn't agree with at all ;) It is what it is. But as an influencer of nearly 25, 000 people, I think this was a 'miss' that could end up costing a good company, with goos plugins, a lot of lost sales. Sublab is by far the biggest fukkin' gimmick that could ever exist. Just genius marketing and airhead consumers. I just use 808Studio and Bass Master along with stock mixing plugins to beef up the low end.

I agree with Sublab XL... felt a bit like a money grab for sure. I got it for $20 though, maybe some sort of intro deal? Then I went and got some sort of preset x 3 bundle for another $20, I think this month (ya Ima sucker)... but they did say that it includes all future upgrades and future packs that they make. Most likely, they probably won't make any more packs and sucker is sucked. GG. Unison audio should have random eggplants all over their site... as a hint. Wow, didn't know Taetro promoted them... that's sad. Yes... I would like to see you review the Phil Speiser stuff... I am getting emails from him on The_Instrument, The_Pattern, The_Liquid.... um what The_Fuck? I am the sort of person that watches The_Review Videos so I can decide if I want to spend The_Money and I have barely seen anything on these, except from him.

I tend to like SubLab XL cause it fits my workflow better. I don't tend to drag in samples like most others do. In a weird way it has 90% of what I need in an 808. The Sub is very nice too cause it's set it and forget it by design.

I am enjoying your videos, and I agree with most of your reviews, but in this case, trashing Izotope RX might not be just right. I get that your focus in RX is to extract different elements from a music track so you can chop and sample them later - but RX is not necessarily the best choice for this to begin with - you have Steinberg Spectralayers and stuff like that. RX is more all in one dialogue, recording and restoration suite that can do so many other things too, but again, as you surely know, it wasn't even designed for extracting stems from the mix - this feature was added only 6-7 years ago for the first time, and RX has been around as an industry standard for audio restoration and editing for much longer than that. It is one of my most used tools (being music producer and sound designer for video games/interactive content), and really, one of the best Izotope products - I really cannot imagine last ...almost two decades of work without it.

I can't even figure out why to have dedicated "Bass synth" it's not that we have millions of amazing synths, even free ones... Just play then at lower octaves 😅 After more then 10 years of music... At one point u r trying to get rid of the plugins, not to horde even more of them. Sometimes some actually good stuff comes out that it's worth having like ShaperBox, Infiltrator and Elevate. But other then that how many more compressors, delays, synths, reverbs do u really need? 😅
