Fear not... Billy has his eyes on a bolt in rear axle for the 55. It’s due for some updates. The original 55 rear ends are terribly weak, and prone to failure at even stock power levels. The 265 never came close to what the Roller Cammed 357 makes.

Same here, it's why I had my own cars since I got my license, so if I broke it, it was mine, Dad would still shake his head and ask me if I had lost my mine but not nearly as bad as if it was his, he never drove any of mine ever, even though I've offered them for him to use when his were down for repairs.

You can tell Billy hasn’t been in to many cars that broke a driveshaft. Breaking a driveshaft, while in motion, is one of the scariest sounding and feeling failures one could have happen. It is an unmistakable sound when that driveshaft smacks the floorboard. Glad you guys are ok. Good luck in Indy this weekend. I believe you guys are about do for a W...if you can keep Billy from filling up the new carb with loc-tite.

Scattered a few 56 rear ends , finally put a 69 chevelle 12 bolt in with auburn posi and 4.10's, swapped the spring perches side to side ( moved inside frame ) put a 2 link set up on top of axle tubes with heim joints and a shock cross bar , ( upper floor board ripped ) will fit a 10" slick , then the muncie was the weak link , broke many of them before going to a M22 rockcrusher , My Beagles are same way , I hate to leave em when i'm going somewhere , they love to ride , Keep the vids coming , Bill

I got an old 4-door 55' as payment for hauling hay (= to $75) when I was 14 years old. The rearend was the first thing to go out. It had a 265 with a power slide in it. The neutral drop launches killed the rearend right quick and if you ran it too hard it would vapor lock and you'd be stuck for an hour waiting for it to cool back down.

Love that 55! I know that 357 is strong for sure but with that 4 speed and old school nostalgia I can’t help but think what a aluminum headed roller cam 427 big block with a tunnel ram and two well tuned Holley carbs would bring to the table. But I do really like the way the car is now. It has a story to tell.

I left Daisy Mae with my mom and dad. My dad a dog lover. He lived 18 months longer I believe because of her. He passed. Didn't have heart to take her from my mom. My mom is a Daisy Mae lover. We were Sunbury Square Kids and Delaware Cruisers back in the mid to late 80s. . Occasionally we got a gang of us together and went up to Marion to Shoot the Loop. Or sometimes over to Mt.Vernon to cruise the Squared circle as we liked to call it. It was much smaller than Our Sunbury Square. But always had Good times where ever we went

Going for a cruze, that cool. We used to go to a neighboring city to Cruz's what we called the Puyallup loop 5 gallon spodes= 6to8 different alcohols with fruits all the good stuff, then we'd find the racers. And fallow them around the loop watching the street race in the center of the city. Those were the last of the day's you grew up on 73- 85 was good year's.

Just maybe off of subject a bit but in your new Merchandise Warehouse you may want to look into what is called a mini split heating and ac system very inexpensive the run ,and work very well , I'm sure there is some heating and air guys on the channel that can contest to this. Just a thought. .

I had a 70 Monte,Saginaw ,12 bolt,GM posi. I couldn't tell it absorbed much power. I never had a good running motor in front of it. I can't believe it had original rear,assumed it was a 10bolt
