I'm a 33 year old female and have higher standards. There are so many around me in happy relationships but I have yet to have a significant relationship that brought beauty. its true...sometimes i feel like "omg i need to get married now, this year or next year, i need to get a date this week...bla bla bla..." all because of peer/family pressure, & i, too want love ofc. To the point I'm so absorbed about finding "the one" that I'm kind of losing focus on other areas of my life that are so meaningful to me, that makes me, ME! Now I just sit back & relax into my singlehood & enjoy the dates (but dating more intentionally now) anyways...Bless you & your journey!!

Excellent video. 🌟 This year is a year of transformation for me. I cut the toxic environments and places I used to visit out of my life recently. I have now regained my self respect and love, I no longer get upset with low lifers who have nothing better to do but rain on my parade. I smile and quietly walk away. I understand now that people who get their kicks from verbally abusing me have something wrong with them. Controlling your emotions is an essential trait. Nothing is more ugly and frightening then to see people get into a verbal aggressive argument. Its disrespectful to other people too when you are in public. Using discretion and discernment is the key. It’s all about cleaning up your act. Loving you is important and developing great skills like the beautiful lady mentioned in this video. 💜

Yeah i used to be verbally abused as well but i tried extremely hard to not confront the person (its a family) instead I act as if they DON'T EVEN EXIST!! They are suffering inside, trust me. Excellent video. However I do not agree with you about lowered expectations. I have known too many women in their 50s still waiting to snag that physician or Senator, however they have not developed the skills needed to interest such a man. A plain, 52 year old woman who does not even know how to set a dinner table or how to wear appropriate clothes will not be able to snare a US Senator. These women end up chasing men who have to rudely shut them down and beg to be left alone. Please let’s NOT encourage this behavior.

With respect to lowered expectations I think its actually really helpful advice. I made the error of letting in, a person who had no interests or intellectual curiosity, even though I love to read and go to lectures and have in depth discussions. Taking summer classes just for fun was how i spent my summers. I settled thinking other traits would off set his attitude. Nope, the relationship was a disaster. I bearly suvived it and it effected me severely. In other instances, I met incredibly smart men who were not just going to lectures for fun but to educate themselves to solve world problems. Boy did I chase and chase and chase. Though they exceeded my standards I was limited, at the time, to complement the different facets of their very complex lives. It was a wake up call that I needed to be realistic and also broaden my own approach, experiences, knowledge and purpose.

@@sandracastillo3317 thanks for your comment. I’m not referring to friendships but to marriage or serious relationships. I have three friends who were well into their 50s, never had a real relationship, all had limited social skills though not unattractive, but were never beauties and had never develop the knack for snaring a man yet continued to expect that they would end up with a multimillionaire/billionaire, a high level professional or because we live in DC, a Senator or Cabinet member. I’m not saying that an educated and attractive woman should settle for a high school drop out, but if a woman is 50 plus and has never received any marriage proposal from any man, maybe she lacks the knack to attract a man at that level. One friend even took me to lunch to pick my brain on how I attracted my ultra rich fiancé, a billionaire. She had just finished her PhD and thought it was something she could study. I explained that I just showed up in his life and he chased me for months, but men have always chased me. Fortunately, she forgot her unrealistic expectations and finally found a very attractive, regular guy and seems happy.
