Nice video, lovely one! Amen to being honest & true to one's beauty and makeup application. I have been a makeup artist for over 27 years and have trained other baby artists through the years. I have always stressed enhancing one's beauty and attributes. I have been tired of seeing the overly contoured cheek bones, groucho- magic marker brows, and super highlighter cheeks/tip of nose/above brows, and drag looking makeup. The only time I have had more heavier handed makeup application was for some editorial and video work. I see too many women of color using lighter color powder heavy handedly under their eyes and over their t-zone area. It certainly is not a balanced look. I love doing a more classic, elegant look which flatters most better than these crazy trends. I am seeing more natural looking looks trending more recently, which is great! Contouring was never meant to be seen so darkly and prominent. A good contour application always enhanced one's facial features softly and corrected others. Heavier makeup techniques and application is very jarring & shocking to see in person. Like you said, these instagram makeup looks are not realistic to the real world and women's everyday life. Makeup is art and such skill is best shown in editorials or some sort of art/public show. In everydays life, I believe everyone should go for natural look or a pretty minimal signature look. Extravagance is something that hardly doesn't take from or interrupts any occassion we attend.

I have always tried to my make the right way(the way you described. I felt pressure from a few women in my circles who swear they are make up artist. But, I don't like their make up because they always overdo the make up(specifically the eyebrows).

I draw the line at glitter, nah, seriously less is more, it’s you use it. I have hooded eyelids, an glitter colors are the ones that show, however I keep them to natural nudes and pink tones.

There is a such thing as doing way too much when it comes to makeup. One thing I dislike is seeing women wearing "Trixie Mattel" eyelashes in the day. It completely envelopes the eye and you can't see your brows. Plus it does not suit the eye shape.

i think you are very pretty and have enjoyed your videos. To me the squared off edges of your eye brows do not look natural...they look chiseled . rounded softer edges would be more natural.
