AFAIK the guy who bought Mario for 2 million was scammed. An auction house and a game rating company were working together to hyper inflate otherwise worthless games. That Mario game sold in the millions so anyone willing to pay a 7 figure sum for a copy deserves to be scammed like that.

The rarest game I own (with concrete sales data at least) is Robotrek for the SNES, known in Japan as Slapstick. In North America, the game sold 20,000 copies, while its Japanese counterpart sold 45,000. I paid $90 Canadian for a loose copy back in 2020, but it’s now being listed for over double that.

I'm kinda surprised the Mother 1 English NES carts weren't mentioned on this list. I believe somewhere between two to four prototype carts have been found, containing the fully translated game which was going to be released until Nintendo of America axed the project close to the last minute.

Love the video, style, editing, and bitching about being nearly 40 😂 The end though, with the SMB game being the most expensive sale ever, while true, is unfortunately a money laundering scheme between a few bad actors who were trying to artificially pump up the WATA cart grading system. I guess the "SMB hanging tab sale" still counts, but it was not in good faith, didn't truly change hands, and is currently under investigation, it should be known. Pat The NES Punk has a breakdown video on it if you want more info.

If a game has only one copy then it's NOT A COPY. Unless you mean there are two instances and only one is a copy, in which case carry on.

If something isn't the original, it's a copy. It doesn't matter if it's the only one left.
@LordArikado3 ай бұрын
"Copy" refers to units manufactured for retail that are, by definition, copied from the original master version. The only way this wouldn't be considered a copy is if it was somehow the original master that all copies were made from, which is highly unlikely.
