Got a 42 mph over speeding ticket today near the Tail of the Dragon riding my RS660. I admit it; I was riding way too fast. Where I live it is flat everywhere so I never get to ride so many fun curves. I even got the entire thing on my GoPro. I feel so dumb but I guess it was gonna happen at some point. Getting an attorney tomorrow to hopefully keep my license. Cruiser bikes are looking great right now lol! I’m thinking of only riding my RS660 on the track from now on. Valves needed adjustment, tried doing it myself and could start the bike, did it again and it started but broke a valve cover bolt so It leaked coolant and oil everywhere, got a fuel injected bike and never looked back, I got the KTM Super duke 1290 R and its been on heck of a dream. I had a 1993 EX500. Second bike I owned. The one before was 12 years before that and it was a 2003 ZX6R. I got way too comfortable squiding around on that.. The ex500 needed a little work to it(valves adjustment, upgraded cam chain tensioner, carb sync, New tires and wheel bearings). I got it back in Great running order.. On the way home one night, a racoon ran out in front of me and the next thing is the bike and I sliding across the pavement at 55mph.. Rode the bike home. I think the frame was tweaked a little. Never rode the same.. Then got a Honda CTX 700, didn't like the riding style. Purchased a 2006 Blue FJR1300 off a friend.. Been riding they ever since. 🏍️🏍️🏍️

It pulls pretty good starting at 5k rpm.. 😁 I've read it'll do 0-60mph anywhere from 2.97-3.2 seconds. Not bad.. The guy before me installed a car cruise control on it. I still have my ex500 in my shed. Carbs need rebuilt, but otherwise runs. Great little motorcycle. 50+mpg... 😁🏍️ It definitely did suck wrecking it after all that work. I shouldn't have rode it to work that day(I had an appointment for my impacted wisdom teeth to be extracted) I had a feeling, too bad I went against that feeling.. Then again, I probably wouldn't have the motorcycle I have now. My riding jacket, Gloves and boots saved me from more pain. Helmet and bookbag untouched. Pants were beyond tore up. In the UK we have the "sunshine bikers" (fair weather riders). Usually on an R6 (self respect, pah!) maybe an R1 (litre bro!). The bike is immaculate, their Dianese leathers are immaculate, their knee sliders bear the lightest of grazes, but only from their garage wall. They only leave the house when there's a less than 5% chance of rain and ride through housing estates and villages in only first gear - so everyone can hear their 'Povic full system. They'll overtake at every opportunity, especially on blind corners, on their way to the closest meet where they can stand back and admire their shiny bike, intentionally parked next to some dirty CBR600 that's covered 100k and still runs well. The minute a cloud passes overhead they're straight back on the bike on the way home to re-oil the chain, polish the bike and watch some old MotoGP.

No riding experience? R3/Ninja 400/Z400/Sportster/Bolt depending on what style of bike you want Previous experience like dirt bikes or ridden on the road previously: MT-07/R7/ Ninja 650/Z650/SV650, etc. The biggest thing is to sit on a bunch of bikes and see what fits YOU.

getting back into riding again, i ride a Honda Rebel 500. i understood about the last 5 minutes of this video. i haven't seen to many sport bikes like in the video racing on city streets, yes they probably do 20 over the limit, on the interstate i can't say. all i do know is my Rebel isn't made to go 150 mph. i have run it up to 85 mph, which is fast enough for me, the wind at that speed is ok, but the big bug that hit my face shield scared the crap out of me, i actually had to wipe the guts off the shield with my gloved hand to see clearly. so when you say we're going slow, maybe the sport riders are going too fast. and i do wear bright yellow riding gear, because people driving 4 wheel vehicles, SUCK when it comes to looking for motorcyclists. i do like most of your vids though, i'll keep watching.

I'm still kinda the daily sport bike guy... Started that way, other bikes are great. I made my way back to one, two words. Back pack... More then one loaf w/Skippy. Or separate compartments so you don't crush the bread. And only getting two things is an excuse to ride. (Frustrating as traffic and parking lots may be)
@kmtdt22 жыл бұрын
Thats what I was thinking. The one loaf of bread is the excuse to ride. And I'll also go to a store 20 minutes out of the way just to get on the interstate... I mean because they have better selection

I bought a 2023 s1000rr at 49 yrs old last year, my first bike was a gsxr 750 back in 97 with many bikes in between, had a mt10, loved it but sport bikes are my love. I love the fast and highway racing. Some ppl just love what they love. I'm 50 now and still do 100 mph wheelies and 190 mph pulls and that's what puts smiles on my face. Cruisers were boring to me, yes better for city riding admittedly but I'm not a city rider.

I ride a Ninja 1000, no bags… lowered handlebars… and race jacket with Kawasaki all over it. It is a superbike? Literbike? Or just a poser I enjoy riding as a daily? Normies think I am 186 mph at all times… but we both know I’m just pretending. I like it though.

I however plan on keeping my lil Ninja fer awhile and letting anyone who wants to learn play on it, and not gonna lie it's fun to bang through the gears and pretend it's a superbike!

FINALLY, you got around to dunking on riders like me (Ninja 250 bro)! I'd been feeling all unloved and left out. But you got me all wrong, Yammie. I'm not an aspiring sportbike bro who's trying to hang with the 600cc crowd, I'm a Ninja 250 apologist who is on a mission to convince the world that pre-gen Ninja 250s are brilliant and deserving of far more respect than they get. Of course I came to that conclusion based on firsthand riding experience on exactly 4 motorcycles, one of which was a Suzuki TU250, and another was a Can Am Spyder. (#4 was a Zero SR/S, which is a legit big boy bike).

I do not where to fit on your list, my first bike was a chinesse 125 naked (keeway) then got a naked street triple, which i use everyday, for going to work to weekend trips to the mountains with the guys, to go to track days 6 to 8 times a year. Then i could affort my actual aprilia Tuono v4, 4 years of loving it already, an scooter for work and city, and a track day pit bike with which i go each 2 or 3 weeks to track when wearther permits, sometimes also hit the track with the tuono , apart from going with guys to mountain trips, where do not go knee down, just enjoy the day, they places, the pit bar stops and the orgasmic sound of the V4.

As a sportbike only rider I do have the feels of this. I want a naked bike but I also love my CBR600rr! I want a fz09 but also like twinning with my wife and her CBR600rr. Yes I need the comfort
@ethansimpson46062 жыл бұрын
I bought a fz09 on Wednesday and I rode my buddy's cbr600rr last night for the first time! They are polar opposites of each other. Fz is torquey as FUCK and the CBR is ridiculously fast and good handling. I love them both a ton in different ways. The FZ is better for me because it makes way more sense to have that amazingly strong torque on the street with still very fast acceleration. It wobbles at like 100ish tho so I definitely can't push it like the CBR. I only rode the CBR for like 20 mins and it was awesome but I don't wanna die that's not for me lol those highway pulls were insane!!
@neildrummond57112 жыл бұрын
See that’s why I want the fz09 because of the torque! But I like the speed and handling of my CBR600rr! I guess I just need to get my wife on board with getting a third bike!
@jawrazorback2 жыл бұрын
@@ethansimpson4606 if it wobbles at 100 you need to loosen your grip, check air pressure, get different tires, or check something else in the front end I've had mine to 140mph and it had a bit more to go but I backed out that's was fast enough honestly too fast on a naked the wind just bombarded me and made it too sketchy to hold the throttle open any longer which also could be caused by my suspension being too soft and bouncy but I don't need to hit 140 again
