August 16th 2023 marked the 75th anniversary of Trolleybuses in Vancouver, where the first day of trolleybus service started back in 1948. This video showcases a ride on two Canadian Car & Foundry (CCF) Brill Trolleybuses, preserved by the Transit Museum Society, driving around Downtown as a means to celebrate this milestone.
The first ride is on 1947 CCF Brill T44 2040, under the beige BC Electric livery. The other ride shows 1954 CCF Brill T48A 2416, painted in the BC Hydro livery.
Throughout this video, you will take a look at these buses' historical interiors, how they're driven, as well as some action with the overhead wires and poles. The final portion of the video consists of the brills deadheading to the depot after the event.
