@@89G i used a felpro 1262 gasket and did silocone on the china walls which is what leaked but I really didnt see anything wrong with the silocone . it was making contact all the way across it but im goin to put it back together today and hope it doest leak. I just shot him a text trying to figure out a good time to get together and make the deal happen

@@79beans347 I actually used those rubber Fel-Pro's on Frankie, and used RTV to hold them in. Just an experiment, and it's worked so far. I hope you get a deal worked out soon, BTW! Could be a good little winter project for you!

@@89G yeah i like those rubber end pcs as well and if it had come with those I would have used them for sure cause I used it on my last fox and never had any problems. I like how they wrap around the china wall to keep them from moving. yeah Im hoping that his mind hasnt changed about letting it go but I will find out soon

LOL, actually, the floor has a blue tint to it now. The door doesn't have anything on it. I plan on redoing the floor, so no big loss there.

Looks good. That blue looks like bright regatta blue but yours isn't metallic. My 89 GT originally was the bright regatta blue. But somebody had painted it purple which is obviously a bad paint job because it's peeling. I'm going back with the original color and I'm going to use the Spray Max system.

@@89G i bought this 89 gt back in April and it had been sitting for eight years. I did a head job and replaced the fuel pump and ecu, she's running but it needs an exhaust before i can get it stickered. I paid $550 for it.

Also how long did you wait after spraying the rustoleum until you sprayed the clear? And how long did you wait inbeteeen coats of clear? Awesome job this is exactly how i want to do my 87, thanks for any info you share

I did 4 parts paint, 3 parts acetone, and one part Majik Catalyst/Hardener (P/N 8-0950-4). I waited a week to do the clear so the paint could gas out. I used U-Pol 2882 2K Clear with the standard UP2323 hardener. I want to say it was 1/2 hour between coats of clear. That's one detail I don't remember much, but I know it wasn't a great deal of time. If I could change anything, it would be to use an adhesion promoter on the bumper covers. I'll probably end up doing those again at some point, as there are some bubbles I can see (it's been a year).

Wow, Shane! People always ask me how I learned to do this or that. Seems I get asked that a lot because I do most anything. I honestly think the reason most people can't do some difficult tasks is that they are afraid to try. So you mess up sometimes. That's how you learn. You don't learn if you don't try. So congrats man. Car looks great. Keep learning!

my car has original paint faiding but ya know everythig works on the fukin thang down to the cruz control and the freakin map light ..so i can cruz down the road with a little bit of boom i fell younge again..and not to mention the rubber neckers that look..they think its new..but its a good distance car....looks good at a distance...period...!~!!~
