Hey guys! Aquascaping does not have to be expensive , if you collect your own wood and rocks ☺️ I bought a 200g off of fc marketplace for $600, but you could easily find 50g for $50 or cheaper haha. I also use black blasting sand instead of the standard aquarium sand, $15 for 50lbs vs $75 for the standard aquarium sand they sell at the pet store. I also buy low maintenance plants! The trade-off is time and patience. The most expensive part is maintenance at that point (root tabs, fertilizer, ect). Hope this helped ☺️

I just want to say thank you for this series. I copied everything you did but for my 5 foot tank. Even things like seeing how you hooked up the UV clarifier to the fx6 was a huge help for me to install. I've not got any livestock yet as I'm letting the tank run for a couple weeks and then will start with shrimp. Thanks so much!

Hello. First I want to say that I have been watching your videos for a few years now and they've always been an inspiration to any aquariums I have set up. That being said, none of your previous videos came anywhere near the quality and inspiration this one did. I stumbled across this build probably mid way through the split up series. Now watching everything come together, I was completely blown away by the thoughts, planning, and emotion you put into this project. I watched every second without stepping away. Be proud of what you did and never stop. Much love from a fan across the pond.

Side note. More species adventures and more salt water? So many unknown species. With every new one you introduce is literally a HUGE learning opportunity for fisheries. I know they’re just your personal tanks, but even real researches don’t always get such a close opportunity to explore individual species and different environments/ relationships, etc. thanks…. Always love ! Happy to have this opportunity to experience, even if I don’t have it

BTW, MD really needs to get credit for how physical it is to get tanks running, especially in his old studio, hauling buckets of water. This was really exhausting 😂, to fill and do my 1st water change and I only have a 29 gallon breeder tank. Unbelievable how much water that actually is 😂 I'm just appreciating your efforts and the work it takes to set up tanks 🎉 the end results are always wonderful and great learning experiences. I'm so happy I stumbled on this channel for the wealth of knowledge and also the feel of this channel and the people who follow.

I totally understand the purists pov to want to keep African fish together and native fish together, etc but personally myself, I love a good melting pot so to speak of all kinds of fish, and plants and even scaping style together in one tank, especially with one this large. The community style of this tank gives your eyes so many places to look but it's not too busy either. I love it so much! The colors, the different sizes of fish, the different levels they swim at, all give plenty of eye pleasing gratification. I think some Cories would look great in there as well..I love those... but it looks amazing already as well. You've don't something really special here and I'm really missing my tank now lol. 😂 But at least I can come here and see your creations. I could sit n watch this tank for hours. Gorgeous! I think that bloom is due to wood, it seems like drift wood needs to be soaked for weeks to remove all the tannins (tannic acid). Driftwood can make aquarium water cloudy or discolored due to tannins released as the wood decays. Tannins can cause the water to turn yellow or brown and reduce pH levels. The water may also look foamy or cloudy

Other series bloggers often follow certain species of animals and plants, etc. and create story lines. As a fish owner you know each species has specific personality traits so observing that (& broadcasting) is helpful. It might seem little but it’s big to viewers. I watch my tanks carefully and definitely notice changes… yea it’s same most days but still the same story is an amazing story. Hope that makes sense . But it helps viewers understand a deeper understanding of each species in different environments.
