Another minor benefit of tank grips is they slow down your fatigue a lit bit when racing/riding because you're not sliding around as much so you are not having to work your core/leg muscles as hard to keep yourself in place

Safety wire at 12:05 is done wrong. The top bolt is correct but the bottom bolt you have the safety wire tied so its pulling the bolt to loosen it which is the opposite of what you want. You would need to tie the wire off at the opposite side of the hole you tied it to and if that's the only hole just drill another. Basically just look at the wire where its tied and see if its either pulling on the bolt to tighten it or loosening it. I'm a mechanic for the Air Force and need to safety wire almost 100% of the bolts I do. Thanks for the video!
@Gismo33333 жыл бұрын
Many other things is also wrong. Tire pressure is nothing to care about when starting. And a noob is not going to out ride a street tire, even on the track. That tiers holds the top speed of the bike. Or its not allowed to be used on the road.

One more thing to add on tire pressure. A 10 degree farenheit difference will raise or lower the tire pressure by 1 PSI. Check the temperature where you strengthen bike, and at the track, and if needed, add or subtract a pound or two from the pressure so you have the ideal pressure once at the track.

@@hopjop99 I got lucky as the first half of the day was 100% dry. The rain did come though, and it came hard. I’d say 80% of the riders left at that point, including myself. We were all very happy with the first 3 sessions and decided to call it a day. Overall, it was probably one of the most intense experiences of my life. I wish everyone had the opportunity to experience that at least once. Will definitely do it again in the future. I also wished I had done my first track day on my previous bike (Ninja 300) as opposed to my current one (MT09). Had I done that, I probably wouldn’t have upgraded bikes so soon. I would’ve used the opportunity to learn all the fundamentals of track riding before moving on to a bigger displacement bike.

3:00 no way at all... You want high pressures in the tyres on the street 38 at least in most bikes in the rear, sometimes up to 44, especially if you're not riding too much twisties, if you do, high 30s still. Tracks you can drop the pressures, but for the street, 100% stay high, it will save you a lot of tyre, much better stability at high speed and much better slow speed control all the things you want on the street.

@NOONE-hp8bw4 жыл бұрын
The only thing I can think of is lower rolling resistance so slightly better fuel efficiency
@Gismo33333 жыл бұрын
Because you are going to use maybe 10 back wheels the first year. That is many $ wasted in tires in one year. And you use maybe 40% of what your street tires can preform. One street tire holds maybe 3-5 years. And don't cost as much. How much fuel you use, has noting to do whit it. Then you buy a scooter, they use 1/3 of the fuel.
@drewmajor93783 жыл бұрын
As a first timer who only owns 1 bike that is a cruiser (2014 Yam Bolt), is it worth it to go to a track day on that or wait a year/two until I can buy a cheap Ninja 300 or something of that sort? With all of the track day costs (admission, gear, installing a hitch and trailering the bike, etc.) there is no way I can afford an entry track day specific bike. I want to improve my riding but have never been to track mainly because its so expensive. I practice ATGATT on the street but don't have the high boots or gauntlets that are required (for the track I'm going to) and renting a suit is 100/day as well in my area. All of it is adding up quick but I have heard track days are next level for improving riding skills so I want to try and go if I can.

Something besides plastic nylon (similar strength to aluminum) will become lodged in between the zip tie and remain there while it moves up and down.

@@kylekdk456 yeah that would happen if you have it to loose and something harder than the forks could get in there, but not if you have it tight enough... and it doesnt move up and down it only moves in one direction (depends if its upsidedown or right side up forks) and its there so you see where the maximum suspension travel was.
