@@TedwardDrives Hey Tedward! Speaking of the base Carrera, I was contemplating about "cheaping out" (get it because it's still eye-wateringly expensive) over a completely base spec Carrera (with pretty much no options) in the future. In your opinion, would this be a worthwhile purchase? Thanks :)

The magic of 911s is that they can do everything. This and the fact that both the silhouette and the engine noise are quite distinctive explains their success. Porsche has got this just right.

8:26 Totally agree with you! Unless your going to track a car it can be very fustrating having that power. I much prefer a car that is incredibly fun to drive at lower speeds and you can get closer to hitting the cars limits. With the 992 and so many cars today you can be going 90 mph and the car is preforming at 30%. Also agree wheel sizes are going overbord 19 inch would be more then perfect on the car.

Amen brother you beat me to saying just this. Here in NJ the roads are congested with people who drive like crap and spoil any fun you can have. If you like Challengers(as I do), there's no point in getting anything more powerful than an R/T, because you won't be able to REALLY enjoy it. Sometimes I hate how slow and underpowered my Si is but at least I can unwind it without getting into too much trouble. If I had this 992 here I would be constantly frustrated. I'd also have to start a Gofundme to pay for tickets :)Beautiful car though.

What a brilliant car. Porsche struck just the right balance here between classic 911 traits and a few steps forward into the future (though I agree with your exterior niggles). As someone made into a car guy because of the 911, I’ve appreciated more and more how steadily Porsche evolves it with each generation, especially as so many automakers race towards the future at breakneck speed. If it were me, I’d go for the base version with the 7 speed manual and the smallest wheel setup.

Crazy how fast the "regular" 911 is, just insane. What I'm surprised about though is how good it actually sounds. For just a 3 liter and the twin turbos messing with sound, it still has that great induction noise you expect out of a 911.

Given how fast the S is, I think a base Carrera is more suited if you want to push the car. As much as I dislike the standard 718, the 4.0 is surely too fast as well. Makes me glad for the 964. One thing about the 911 since generation 991, even worse with the 992: It‘s not only big, it got really fat! It‘s just huge. I drove behind one on the famous Passo di Stilvio with my MX5, and guess who had bad trouble while cornering? On Autobahn I can nearly go as fast in my business car... („Längsdynamik“ is easy) The last acceptable 911 was the 997 2. generation... and yes, I guess I‘m getting old, too

The way that Porsche has been able to maintain that Porsche "spirit" in the sound of their engines is really something to be admired. It's where others like BMW have somewhat lost their soul and why so many BMW enthusiasts have been continually disappointed. They're still great cars.. they've just become something else. They're more boring with their lower-speed engines and muffled induction and exhaust notes.

Best Christmas present ever! I agree with your gripes because while cars are trying to become more technologically advanced, they are not really making the car "functional". Adding all these screens and sleek door handles may be great and all but it just adds another thing that can potentially break costing money. Even if I had the money to buy this car and pay for the repairs, its not a good feeling having to worry about something potentially breaking.

Even with the all wheel, it will NOT handle in the Snow with those 21" - Misleading info!!!. You need a set of 18"s with winter tires.

Agree about the speed. Did launch control in one at the PEC in LA - so, so, fast.

I daily drive my turbo and it does get snow tires in the winter. This car would be fun for a daily.

It's so fun to watch you drive these amazing vehicles. Always wanted a Porsche, ever since I guy I knew had a '74 Carrera. It is my Number One "If I win the lottery" car. Number two? That Unimog you tested. Unfortunately, my toy budget is nowhere near Porsche or Mercedes prices....

Love it man! I rented a 2018 911 4s cab in Miami on vacation, from Enterprises exotic car line...super cool service. the wife and I drove it down to key west then, across the Everglades over to the gulf side on vacation a couple of years ago. The 911 is my dream retirement car. Love the new looks! Love the videos.
