If anyone painting at home is reading this.. go buy a hygrometer! I ran to Lowes to get a digital clock/hygrometer combo to stick in the booth after watching this. 😂 The temp inside the carport was definitely higher. Having a clock to keep up with flash times without pulling out your phone is handy as well. This is a must-have item and cheap. Thanks Trigga!

@@sphdg man so many different things can cause that it would be hard to pin point without being there. Fried up on the base? Over old paint? Sealed it? Primed it? What I've seen the most is when the old paint has been sanded through and it's not primed or sealed. I have a new prepper and she sometimes sands through the old paint and leaves it. And I call her over to show her you have to prime this or it will wrinkle on me. We have can primer for little spots so that I don't have to seal it. And 98% of the time it works fine. I'm going to add that to my list right now. I have a list of videos ideas I have to make I'll definitely do it.

If the color is actually darker then you may need a lighter alternate. So 3 opinions, #1 go with a lighter alternate, #2 drop a little silver into your base, or #3 turn up your pressure on the last coat of base. Hope that helps man. Great stuff trigger. I was wondering how you keep the metallics laying down nicely when it’s a little smart repair bumper corner blow in. No stupid questions here my man. Everything is basically the same procedure just on a smaller scale. Are you asking about like a erally small repair? Even on the smallest jobs you still want to use a bigger tip 1.2 for those metallics. The small tips will give a slight difference in color. I think that's what you mean. Let me know if that's what you mean, if not give me more details and try to get a video up on it next week.

@@thetriggerman954 thanks trigger . Yes a really small repair when using a 1.0 or 1.2 tip. When blending I tend to feather the trigger and puff it about, I presume that will be laying it down dry ? Giving a different appearance ? I colour matched a paint (Ford moondust silver on my vehicle, did the spray out card before starting any work, the sample looks really light compared to the paint on the vehicle . So I got some paint chips from a local paint shop to take a look at other shades, none seem to match. Wasn’t sure if my spray out card wasn’t sprayed wet enough for the metallics to sit right, giving it a lighter shade ?. Will clear coat darken the paint a little ? . Me personally I would need a 1.4 in that gun. It's hot as hell in Florida and I like to move a little faster. 1.4 and a TE20 is the perfect set up for me with that gun. When it gets cooler out I would swap out to a 1.3 maybe grab you a 1.4 and try it out. Better to have it on hand and have the option in case you need it.

@@thetriggerman954 Greatly appreciated the quick response, and will get the 1.4! I am up NE Ohio and won’t be spraying until next spring most likely I just got poly primer on and now I’m sanding my life away…..😂👍🙏

Yes it is. I never used it until starting this channel. Seems it's a KZbin thing so I had to get with the program. 🤷🏽‍♂️

@@thetriggerman954 might be worth a try. I need more training on tips and what that changes I have a 1.3 for my gun but I’ve never used it. I run a 1.4 year round but I have a booth that stays within 75 to 115 in the summer sometimes

Sometimes you look like Lou Bega and sometimes you dont. Had to get that off my chest it’s been months. I tried to let it go not happening. That said I think people are struggling with even passes. 3rdly nobody gonna understand painting until you do it. Research is important though and you’re helping people. You cover reality and that’s just as important as the arithmetic side of it all. Some paint reps are full of shit and some feel like they have to stick to their books and that’s fair I guess.

Lmao man I had to Google that name. 🙈🤣 that's my half brother 😉 I know what you're saying about them struggling with the passes. I'm just trying to get them to at least have a better chance by starting out with the right materials. You can't get anything right if you're set up to fail from the start. 💪🏼
