great work and your right you can paint anywhere. Just need to wet it down. putting your mixing inside the booth is also really good. Like you are doing. I remember opening the booth door and the fans would shut off....Then the filters would shake. There comes the dirt. or if I rigged the door button the dirt would come in with me. Having a mixing table near the job is really another key to getting less dirt. Today I just dont care much....Cut and polish everything. I love the reality painting stuff you show. People need to know that there are Hot days and cold days. you dont have temp control. All those things make it much easier to get a consistently nice job. Reality is most people dont have those things.

Nice job. I do the same thing but I’ll nib my basecoat after the first coat is flashed off that way it’s clean when I do my final coat and blends. Usually stuff comes out really clean. A few nibs here and there we just let them go. Even factory has dirt in their paint. I nib and buff very rarely. It’s not about having a state of the art booth… it’s about taking the right steps and the right prep and mask. 👍🏻👍🏻

Hey Trigger, I was beginning to wonder if you was ok mate as it's been a while but here you are again making my day with a new upload👌some very good advice there for anyone that doesn't have a posh booth (me included) as it is difficult to get a clean job. What has made a big difference in my little booth is to lay carpet on the floor, what I use is the outdoor patio carpet as it's waterproof and hard wearing and mine has been down nearly 2 years and it's still giving me clean jobs plus I never put any water down but I just hoover it a couple of times a week🤓😎 Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks Trigger👏🙏👍John UK

The sagola 3300 with the tech cap is 🔥🔥🔥 for clear. It's great for metallics too. Also, melting the edge of sealer you only really need to do it for water base paint. With water base for some reason if you don't melt the edge of the sealer the metallic is going to bunch together in the area where you stopped with the sealer. You can use reducer to melt the edge of sealer.

Thanks for sharing your experience Trigger. I have been going nuts trying to refine my process. I think I finally cracked the code but it takes more work preping and cleaning, cleaning, tacking, tacking. I started using a lint roller. Static is the enemy and no way to avoid. I have seen floaters get electrically drawn from my clothes to a panel like a magnet. a wet bed on the floor really helps. Great tips as always brother! Nice clean blend out the lab today!

Spot on! I paint inside a portable garage... the type with tarp walls, doors, etc. Even though I rigged it up with carpet flooring and a framed extension for extra length that holds intake fans, dust and dirt are inevitable. I use an electric leaf blower a day or so prior to painting. Turn on the exhaust fans, and blow it from top to bottom, sides, and carpet. Just keep blowing until I dang near blow the walls off. 😂 You can never be too clean to reduce (not get rid of) dirt nibs.
@thetriggerman954

Yo what up bro. You actually got a nice booth there. I have a "home made" both in my shop, built where there was an apartment area with a family room and kitchen. Low ceilings, perfect dimensions. I installed LED lights, built a fan and filter box into the exterior wall, and two big barn doors with filters on the inlet side. Anyway, i need to increase my skill with laying down the wet bed. I've tried it a few times but haven't quite perfected the process yet. Will be checking out the rest of your videos to pick up some knowledge! I'll holler

This younger generation needs to understand that the cars there painting have orange peal and dy back from the factory,if you slick one side out you kill the whole car.The only cars that need a slick paint job is a show car or maybe a all over.I'm old school came out of JVS in the 90s we made the cars look as factory as possible.If you go to a new car dealership and look at a new car there's dirt all in them paint jobs.IT'S a privilidge to get a job with a 50 thousand dollar booth most of us paint in a less then shit garage most diyer's do.Just paint nib out the dirt and move on this ain't the worlds Autarama with the best trophy award.If you get in this trade enjoy it you can have a happy living and every now an then a car will show up that needs that flow coat.Trigga does awesome with what he's working with.

We don’t use sealer at the shop I work at, the reason being is because the time it takes for sealant to dry before applying paint, how long do you flash off till you lay down paint on your sealer?
@thetriggerman954
@thetriggerman954 3 ай бұрын
Yes it definitely slows things down. I usually wait 15-20 minutes. If you apply paint to soon then you run into dieback. I personally like to just apply paint over the 2k primer if it hasn't been sanded through.

Man you really blessed brother, the shop I work at they expect the car to be painted in 15 mins I work for el cheapos, always rub throughs on panels because they tight asses on time and primer, I primer with a heat gun in my hand the boss will mix up 100 mil of primer for a whole door that’s complete with body filler, I’ll put one coat on it dry it with heat gun for a minute then I put a second coat that’s barely a full coat, so when it comes time to rub it I get rub throughs and then we have to primer can the rub throughs, my boss cry’s about the electricity spent in spray booth, so yeah no sealant allowed, they don’t even let us painters at the shop mix the paint other day I did a car quarterpanel the door, the fender, the hood and bumper bar and the el cheapo mixed me up 250mils of paint, he put 250mils of thinners in it since our system is 1:1 ratio comes in the booth and tells me I mixed you up 500mils, man when I looked at the cup and only seen 500mils all up I almost hit him with my spray gun lmao el cheapos can’t seem to catch a break always end up working at a shop with either a real nasty tradesman/boss or a el cheapo like the one I’m working at now
