Possibly his best film of the camp horror genre. Phibe's fashionable, but mute assistant, played by Virginia North in the first film, was the perfect foil for Vincent Price, the acknowledged Master of the Macabre. The American International films were pure cheddar made for the B circuit and drive-in shows but, as their producer occasionally reminded critics, they all made money.
