While watching the video I noticed you replaced a 1-pole contactor with a 2-pole (without a jumper between L2 and T2.) I am guessing the system has/had a crankcase heater which explained the 1-pole contactor. By removing the shunt won't the compressor need to work harder to start up, shortening its life? Or perhaps the weather precludes the need for a crankcase heater where you live? Think I noticed a heater attached further in the video. Please elaborate, I am curious to know.

Isnt the Capacitor used to run the fans in the outside unit? If fans are running fine and still AC not blowing cold air, could this still be faulty capacitor or something else? I have already cleaned the coils for any bloackage but still its not blowng cold air so what next should I do?

Get your epa license from a tech school or certified company, start as a helper too will help 👍 good luck brother

Whats the voltage value on the low voltage coil 24V on the contactor??

I always check for 10-20 ohms on the 24v coil, but this is the Second cap replacement in this unit in 1 year interval , burned contacts and pitted that why i changed it , better than coming back for another service call diagnostic and changing another cap and finally replacing the contactor , putting stress on that compressor windings

Good information but it's really hard to follow you when you're constantly moving the camera. If you could pause the camera for a few seconds in each object you're talking about as you go along it will make it much easier and understandable to follow. Thanks!

Humming is almost always capacitor. 1/3 of my repair calls are capacitor although you have to be careful because there may be a reason capacitor goes bad. Always check amps after replace

This video describes the same issue you’re experiencing. He just repaired the unit by changing out the start capacitor. Freon/Refrigerant doesn’t dissipate. Therefore, it is unlikely your unit is low on refrigerant. Unless, there is a leak somewhere. Not sure why the creator says you may be low on Freon when he literally encountered a similar issue as you are experiencing and it wasn’t indicative of low refrigerant levels.

@@Miguel-dy3fh hardly any cold air could be freon , stuck heater, bad txv , restriction on the evaporator coil and more …., if the compressor was off do to a bad capacitor that house temp is going super high , thats why we have to check first , thanks for the comment 👍👍❤️

Contactors are like points in olde car ignitions. They draw sparks when energized and wear out. It’s about time the contactors get engineered to use solid state relays by manufacturers. They are not too expensive. SSRs are used in all types of applications, especially where moisture or combustion may occur.

@@tomtheplummer7322 I recommend the Emerson Sure Start solid state switch. More expensive, but worth the $$.

My evap coil is icing up starting at the bottom of the A-coil. Both evap and cond coils are sparkly clean and the evap coil fan inside the house is running on high. DAT is only about 70 degrees with an EAT of 78-ish. I’m not a refer guy, so this is a mystery for me.

Great explanation and attention to detail. I have a condo florida and had to have the fan motor and assembly replaced. It was frozen like a huge block of ice. I got there just in time before it flooded. That was very expensive. 😬

Im tired this darn machine a 1 1/2 qn 2 service calls they supposed to have filled n 24 hr later no cold air secon tine refill an lasted 48hrs the machine doesn’t stop n know not blowing air have been looking for a leak n nothing, what else can it be

If is loosing freon it has a leak if is hard to find looks like you need an isolation test meaning pressure all the components indoor unit line set and outdoor unit come back in 2 or 3 days and see if it lost nitrogen pressure, this is not an advice contact a licensed professional thanks
