The Acolyte didn't take long to show everyone what a disrespectful turd it truly is! While people jumped all over the first two episodes and exaggerated how bad they were to fit the narrative they had been hearing for weeks, they could have simply waited a week and had their outrage fully justified as Episode 3 set out to intentionally damage the story of Anakin Skywalker, the focus of the original Star Wars saga. Kathleen Kennedy and Leslye Headland simply cannot allow the original movies to stand untarnished as they struck right at the heart of Star Wars's original concept, the idea of Anakin's immaculate conception. And they're ticking all the boxes of inclusion and intersectionality along the way. Our review goes into just why this decision to have Osha and Mae be born of the force like Anakin is so damaging to the original story.
Note: I pronounced the planet in the video Bren-dak but it's actually Bren-dok; goes to show you how memorable this show is.

Love your sense of humor! Did I think they would stoop to this level? Actually, no. This demonstrates that they do understand what is special and deliberately either made it extra "special" by making these twins appear before Anakin was born, or else they diluted it. Either way, Anakin is less significant (if one chooses to consider this Disney stuff as canon). I lived in an all-female dorm for a while, and it was not fun. Even if 95% of the girls are perfectly nice normal people, there's gonna be 5% who are toxic. The way the rest of the people react to the toxic ones is what makes it so difficult. Some people try to appease them, others try to just ignore them/their drama and a lot are wishy-washy sometimes agreeing with and participating in what the toxic individual wants and other times opposing them. You never know who you can trust so the best strategy is to remain polite and trust nobody. This was a long time ago when nobody was openly LGBT - but I would imagine a community of only LGBT would be even worse because then there would also be romantic entanglements and lots of jealousy. (From what I heard from the guys, their dorm experience was an absolute blast.) So the concept of an all-female community that is some kind of idyllic paradise is the most ridiculous unbelievable nonsense. Also: Who fixes the plumbing? Who fixes the power so it works after a big storm? Who fixes their flat tires? "Magic"? Obviously I loathe what they're doing to the force. Otoh, I am a fan of the OT so I basically ignore Disney's "contributions" and refuse to consider them as canon. Thank you for the video! 🙏😁

I think your channel's being throttled. I've seen over a dozen reviews and am subbed here but it didn't scroll thru for 3 days. I didn't think the show would be this comprehensively lame. Gay, yes. But not this lame. Mother Bridgertonia leads full-coven rave to conjure Power of Many. They're all wiped out in 15 minutes. Great. But why? Mother Bridgertonia also calls for no weapons, no violence, then - unprovoked - mind-r@pes Torbin. Poor bastard. Why? Visiting Jedi do not reconfigure security after meeting coven, when clearly the renegade band are dangerous. Why? Visiting Jedi do not suspect Mae was lying. Why? Visiting Jedi let both twins go back to the coven, knowing what they do. Why? Why not put Osha in protective custody? Who caused the fire and wiped out the witches is not the mystery. The mystery is what the fk the writers think they're doing with a Rashomon riff that they have no skill or competence in. Lame.

Star Wars seem to have discarded the idea that not just any force sensitive brat should become a Jedi. The implication was that they used to reject children that had grown too attached to someone or had suffered trauma because they were more likely to go over to the dark side. Remember Anakin was supposed to rejected and honestly it never made sense that he wasn't.

Same. A friend of mine was like 'Star Wars is finally back', and I was like 'Did You actually watch and understand it?!' It was a decent movie, best visuals in any Star Wars movie up to that point (not really a high bar though), but it was an awful, the worst Star Wars movie. Ben Skywalker is Ben Solo for some reason even though Kenobi and Solo nor Leia had any relationship with each other, the Death Star 3.0 is the *Starkiller* Base, the black Stormtrooper, of course, is a janitor (but the audience is racist), who realized how horrible the fascist² imperial army aka First Order is when he saw one of his comrades dying, yet is fine gunning down a hanger full of them with a Tie fighter, the angsty teen Sith and no-need-for-a-training-to-mind-trick MaRey Sue and all those mystery boxes and good questions for another day. Oh and Leia hugging Rey, an absolute stranger, *not* Chewie after Han was murdered by his own son.
