So why would she want to go with someone that was about to kill her sister? Someone that killed her childhood friends?? Was it his muscles? :))
@azk92183 ай бұрын
@@Bayard1503 well she turned to the dark side, she has fallen. There was no other place in the galaxy for her. In her mind, Jedi lied to her and killed her family. So that hatred can be forged into power, and there is no one else to train her than Qimir, who already manipulated her a lot in 6th episode. Also she realized that either she goes with Qimir to train, or he probably would kill them both. That way Mae could live. It was mostly to show Mae dealing with her fear of losing her sister. Also, with Qimir, she could train without being restrained by the dogma Jedi threw her away for. Combine that with the fact that if she felt hatred for Jedi as a whole for what happened, why would she care that much about a guy who was her friend years ago, who later wanted to put her in prison? Dark side can twist your judgement. Also considering their talk, she could be afraid that indeed if Jedi will find her, they will her or kill them both. Star Wars was always a bit naive and silly, this is nothing new. Luke wanted to save Vader for being his father, despite having literally zero ties to him aside from his blood, and forgot that the Empire turned his only real family into smoking skeletons lol Would you try to sacrifice your life to save a father you never really met before you were an adult? Also knowing he is literally mass murderer and war criminal who killed those who raised you? Doubt it.

@Bayard1503 LOL, I dunno. I'll let Leslye Headland explain that one.

@@Bayard1503 She just killed a jedi, she realizes that the pain that prevented her from becoming one came from a situation where the jedi were heavily involved. the order would not let that slide, same for Mae. Mae doesnt want to train be a dark force user, that was a mean to an end for her (qimir talked about this on episode 6 i think). While Osha has always wanted to be trained, obviously her trust on the jedi is broken so the other option is with qimir (who so far has treated her fairly and seems to not be bsing her). Yord was a childhood friend that she had not seen for 6+ years and he was ready to believe the worst of her at any time. He would be the only person close to being a "childhood friend" that qimir killed, the rest I think were all jedi that she knew for a week as far as I understood.

Mae couldn't go with them not just because Qimir's ship was a two-seater, but because he was still very set on killing her for her betrayal back on Khofar (and her overall resistance to giving in to the Dark Side), which is why Osha said "Let my sister go, then I will train with you". She was bargaining for Mae's life.
@Zhaggysfaction3 ай бұрын
Well then why did Qimir say just moments earlier, when Mae got Sol's laser sword and could have killed her, "strike him down and your journey to the dark side..." or whatever Palpatine said on RotJ and these writers couldn't come up with their own lines. If he was set on killing her something done on Khofar, why would he still try to turn her and give her instructions?
@VanArchon3 ай бұрын
@Zhaggysfaction He told Sol earlier that they made a great team and Osha had turned him down before they left the unknown planet so he was seeing if it could still work with Mae, but then she refused to kill Sol. He had no reason not to kill her at that point and she was a liability to him.

@@VanArchon There was zero indication Qimir was gonna kill Mae presented in the show.
@VanArchon3 ай бұрын
@Zhaggysfaction The show or the episode? There is a distinct difference between the two. In episode 8, you're right. He gave zero indication that he was going to kill Mae then. That goes both ways, though, and he gave no indication that he was not going to kill Mae either. In the show overall, though, yes, he did try to kill her in episode 5, were it not for Sol and Jecki holding him off. So even if he gave no hint which way he would go in the last episode, there is still precedent for him wanting to kill her, until Osha asked him to let Mae go in exchange for Osha training. Could the writing have been better to clue us in on which way he was leaning? Absolutely! I see it as we all think in different ways, and I wouldn't be surprised that sometimes the writing suffers for any entertainment property because the person writing for it either mistakenly thinks that everyone will see it as they do and the audience will make those connections without more context, or they just didn't think to add them in because it all worked out in their own head.

Overall I was good with where things went. I will be bummed if we don't get a season 2. I can agree with you guys that the pacing and editing of things needed more time to breath. I wish the studios would let them just tell the story. If I could restructure things I would make the eps longer, in general, 60+ average... Ep 1: combine ep 1-2 for a long premier Ep 2: Oshas flashback, but a little longer, maybe 15-20 min more with the coven and the girls relationship, learn more about Ascension and their beliefs. A fuller picture. I personally had sympathy for them, but I would like to have had the chance to understand them even better. Ep3: combine ep 4-5 (day/night) with a little more interaction between Qimir and Mae, emphasize her growing skepticism more and make it inescapably clear he will kill her for her betrayal and that's why she keeps running instead of turning herself in. And cut it off when Mae stuns Sol. Ep 4: pick up with Mae and Osha confronting each other and it goes badly, like it does already, but spend more time with them in this reunion, but Osha isn't ready to believe Mae about Sol and Mae has no proof so fight/knockout/swap I'll get proof. And go on w the rest of ep 6 but again spending a little more time with the Sol/Mae and Qimir/Osha split. Give us more interaction so Oshas temptation is bigger and, not that Sol could make it up to Mae, but just her seeing Sol believing he'd been trying to save them. Just a little more depth with those connections so the finale has a little more weight. But we haven't seen the second fb so we don't know the real context as the audience yet. Ep 5: flashback 2.0. Having spent more time with the coven in a more comprehensive and sympathetic light, watching Sol see such a narrow view and coming to all the wrong conclusions becomes even more tragic. I think people would still debate it, I don't need it to be witches good, jedi bad, but I would like the tragedy of his assumptions to be even bigger. All his good intentions just going so very wrong. Ep 6: I think with the extra context throughout the existing finale hits a little harder, but still a little more time especially with the girls second reunion back in that room. A little more breathing room for a softer moment before spinning up into a fight over what Sol did or didn't do. Just to make her hearing his confession and her confidence in and defense of him cuts deeper. And the rest I'm pretty good with as-is tbh. In the tin foil hattiest of tin foil hats, I'm still rooting for Qimir and/or Osha spinning away from the sith training to become the first ren/knight of ren. Idk. I know it's super unlikely at this point but I will die on this hill lolol

How/why Osha is doing what she is doing isn't explained. she hasn't used witch magic or the Thread in 16 years, but she can use it now as if she were a Mother? Its only been a day at most and she trust's Qimir? why? Sol, should of disarmed Mae. He said just a few minutes ago he needs her alive, so I doubt he is going to kills her. the ship doesn't have a hyperdrive so she can only go as far as Brendock. That that lil *hit rat basal. wtf is his motivation? And all of this makes the chase pointless and just eye candy. This seen with David Harewood, should of been the absolute first scene of the whole entire serious. It sets up the stakes. And what is sad is 2 minutes of David is better than most of the characters in this show, not all, but most. When senator asks whoe will stop the rogue jedi. Any competent writer should have Venestra speak up. "The jedi have guarded the Republic, even to our own detriment for Eons. And we will always be there to defend it as we did against the Sith...." it cuts the moment that the Senator built up, and it would show that Venestra knows how to play that game as well. This show has given me no faith that they know how to do Plagueis justice, so I wish he was never even cameoed, especially since he should be a late tween to into his teens right now. but hey just a birthday right? Sol runs from the Jedi, just to turn on his transponder now? why? At the bare minimum he should of turned to Bazil and said "if I don't come back by such and such time, turn on the transponder and wait for the Jedi to arrive." how do you get the lift operational? you blew up the generators, its been 16 years of degradation. How does Qimir get in? new force power Force Teleportation? Why is there a hole in the roof? should of had Osha Force Push Mae out of the room, and then she disappears, because the "batmaning" is getting old and over used. Also her use the Force on Mae and looking at her hands just adds more credence to her regaining her powers. I get he was trying to use the helm again, but you have your lightsaber on the opposite side of Sol's blade. TAKE the bloody shot! his head is right there! Sure he destroys the main saber, but your Shoto saber is still there, and you have to have 2 crystals for 2 blades. Sol has trounced Qimir two times now, but Mae can disarm him with ease? Lightsabers are build to be durable, but a toss onto something suddenly breaks this one like its a dollars store toy? Mae has spent the entire season looking to kills the Jedi, and suddenly she wants Justice? Where did this come from? Its rather convenient that Sol never gets the chance to say "your mother was turning into Force demon, and was vaporizing Mae. I did what I thought was best to protect Mae and you Osha. My only choice was to strike down your mother." "Without Mae there was no proof" What about the blood tests? The fact that Mae and Osha had identical resonance signatures in the Force? Crazy how the writers forgot about that. Osha bleeding a crystal by accident is not only wrong logically, it literally goes against Disney's own lore. How many Men, women and children did Anakin kill? his saber never changed. There should be Rage, heartbreak, outrage in Osha to even begin to bleed a crystal. I'm talking about all but foaming at the mouth!... I don't see any of that on Amandla's face, until after he is dead. She should still be angry when he lashes out at Qimir.. instead she's puzzled? Its also sad that Venestra has all the powers every other Jedi should of had in this show, aside from her use of Psychometry. She tells them to set up a 5 klick Peremeter, and yet ALL of the Jedi are followinng the Rat?! that is not how a perimeter works! "You are going to do what you were meant to do?" What exactly is that? hmm? it literally is not established at all in the show. Memory Wipe.. great Qimir can do it... so why didn't he use it before hand? just a tease of it somewhere earlier in the show to leave that lil bread crumb. So when he uses it here your like aah ok. Then Yoda.. looks as old as he did in the OT. Why couldn't they spend the money to either make a younger puppet, or just CGI him as was done in the Prequels? Where was Yoda? he could feel Order 66, but not these Jedi dying? But worst yet, instead of making the Jedi look fallible. they did nothing but make them look incompetent, absolutely corrupt, and if she comes clean with Yoda then that makes him complicit in the corruption. I can't claim most of the things I pointed out as my own ideas, infact i've gathered them from many didn't People from youtube. But they are all valid points. Most of these just come from this episode, with just a few extending back to the beginning of the show.

while i'm happy that you two enjoyed the show. i found this show. if you can call it a show. very bad. the writing has got to be the number one reason this un-polished turd is bad . i didn't care about the twins/sisters storyline they didn't need to be there. the jedi at the peak of their power and they were just incompetent as stormtroopers trying to hit a target. both light side and dark side powers were all over the place. nothing made sense... i truly hope this is the only season because at least for me this is over.

So I watched the whole series. Give it a 4/10. Some of the action was good. I just have a couple issues. 1. Dull writing (some of the dialogue is atrocious) 2. Not a giant fan of the twins being created with the force. It does feel like it lessens the impact of Anakin. An argument can be made that they used the force to birth these twins, while the force itself birthed anakin. So when I look at it that way it’s a little better. Not much though. 3. Missing answers. So many things just didn’t get a follow up or explanation. I’ll chalk that up to bad writing. Some people will say well we will get answers in season 2… to me that’s a cop out and just lazy. Each season should be able to stand on its own without the reliance of a second season. And that goes for all shows not just this one. Other than that it was meh to me. Not horrible but not good. I do appreciate y’all’s opinion and reactions to this. Ps. I was super stoked seeing Plagueis. My favorite character in all of Star Wars. The book is incredible. If they do get a season 2 I hope they manage to use that novel as a guideline and do him right. But who knows.

Osha & Mae were a "trial run" that gave Plague the opportunity to create Anakin. It doesn't devalue Anakin. In any way. Relax.

@@lusparon332 not even close to as good as the prequels. They actually matter in the grand scheme of things. This was a story written because one person wanted to make her stamp on Star Wars (she even cast her wife who can't act at all to be in the show and set her up to be a main character for s2 - which it won't get).

Yoda aparece tan viejo como en Dagobah, y con la misma ropa. Qué desastre, no hacen nada bien!!
@mateo_marvel13463 ай бұрын
@darbs18323 ай бұрын
They claim to want to tell a story removed from the Skywalker stuff but insist on shoehorning anything and everything possible to relate to them. Yoda, Ki-Adi-Mundi, a vergence in the force, a powerful force-sensitive person(s) with high "m-count", and then the shameless lines basically ripped straight from the OT, Prequels in order to drum up nostalgia and deflect from the horrid writing and acting. Just a huge waste of $180M.
