I’m looking forward to it! Definitely! I love seeing all the stuff that comes out about Star Wars. Even the shows that haven’t been looked at as “good” shows. I like anything that expands upon the Star Wars universe. Anything that shows a side of the whole Skywalker stories that we didn’t see in the movies. I enjoy seeing the things that never made it to the final cuts or to other Star Wars movies. I’ve been watching Star Wars since seeing “A New Hope” as a little kid at the movies. So for me personally, I find things in every show that I enjoy. Of course I acknowledge the things that they’ve done wrong, especially lately. But I don’t let those issues detract from me from enjoying the movie or show as a whole. I’m just so attached to the whole story that I’m willing to over look its downfalls. 🤷🏻‍♂️ That’s just me though…I take the opinions and thoughts of those that hate these new shows just as seriously as I do for those like me that will love the story almost every time because we can find some enjoyment from even the worst episodes or movies. I certainly don’t look down on those that criticize the shows at all. I can see their points. I just personally don’t let that stuff bother me or take me away from the immersion of watching the shows/movies. Great video though Ms. Meg! Your channel is the one channel I make sure I see everyday you release a video. Best of luck as you go forward ma’am. 👍

I think Disney learned from Andor and is going to kill it with this show. Not being tied to well known characters gives the production and writing a lot of creative freedom within the SW universe to really shine. I’m very excited!

I can’t and won’t judge until I see it for myself. Critics aren’t always reliable. The Disney live action shows have been big hits or big misses, for me. I loved Mando Seasons 1 and 2, Ahsoka was mostly good, and Andor was really good. Mando 3 and Book of Boba Fett went off the rails partway through and Kenobi was abhorrent. Overall, a mixed bag, for me. Where will Acolyte land? We shall see! I won’t pre-judge.

I'm happy the industry critics felt it might be good. I prefer the reviews by actual fans that aren't worried about how a huge company like disney will impact their ability to work in the future. Still it's reasonably good news so far. I'll be more interested in reviews from fan channels like Meg and Thor. So far Andor is the only disney plus show I would consider watching someday. I'd be very happy if The Acolyte turns out to be a second disney plus show worth watching.

To be fair, the first two episodes of Andor were kind of slow too (which is probably why they premiered with the first three), but they were very necessary to set up everything that came after. Not the point here, but that is one great-looking cast!

That's what I thought as well, but it does remind me of the beginning of Andor a little slow but then it picks up because the information is important so we need to see it even if it seems like it's slow it's important

I'll say this: if it's a whodunit style mystery, setup is everything so that might explain a slow start. You should be able to look back after the big reveal(s) and a lot that seemed meandering should suddenly click into place and make sense. We'll see though. I'm a little worried about how far they'll stray from the George Lucas conception of the Force, but I'm guardedly optimistic.

I loved The Mandalorian and Andor. Was left extremely disappointed with Book of Bobba Fett and Ahsoka (I was excited to see both but was left underwhelmed). Hated Kenobi. I’m not excited for The Acolyte and probably won’t watch it.

I personally, can’t wait to see this now that Filoni has more of a say. But Meg, I feel like we are soooo spoiled. People look at all new Star Wars ideas as trash because we got use to George Lucas way of vision, filming and directing, and most people leave zero room for exploring new concepts and ideas. I plan to see this show as if I have absolutely no idea of any other Star Wars lore, as if this is the very first time I’m watching a Star Wars idea, rather than how I think it should be. It reminds me of when I went to graphic design school. I have been drawing, creating, and painting on my own for over 20 years before I actually went back to school. And hearing many of the other artists I kept meeting I kept getting depressed because they had the negative attitude that they won’t learn anything. But I decided to abandon all my small accomplishments and look at this from a new experience like it was all brand new to me. It was the best decision I ever made, and as an artist, and I’m always still learning something new and different, life is all about lessons and learning to me. The ego on occasions can stop us from growth and new ideas. The one thing from the Star Wars lore I love to see more, is Anakin; his redemption, and how the newer characters evolving around him are embracing and growing. Who cares if more people are force sensitive, nothing ever stays the same, all things move in waves, shifting and vibration. Any stagnant always ends.

@@calclips hey :) for me personally it comes down to the writing. I don’t necessarily hate any of the choices (although Mando s3 in my option was just bad) being made, but the writing and the structures of many shows just seems lazy. I LOVED Andor, because the writing, actors, world building were excellent! I loved Boba and ahsoka in the prequels and animated shows very much. In their own shows they seem lifeless. And the pacing of those shows was also not great. Maybe you’re right and „ruined“ is a strong word, because they can turn it around very simply. By hiring competent writers! If what’s on the page is shit, you can’t make a good show or movie out of it. But I’m still hopeful, cause I like the premise of the acolyte.

The Full clips where the scene plays out via no editing are flawless. And those segments make 99% of the MCU trash released, the Kenobi train wreck, Book of Missing in Action Fett, Mando season 3, She-Suck, Secret Dumb Invasion’s entire show look like amateurish.

I am very hopeful for this because of the reviews, but I'm cautious because it's made by Leslie Headland. I expect them to sneak in some LGBTQ scenes. If it takes off like the mandalorian, they will have a new flagship show.
