I feel like maybe 10/20 years ago it was true but its not the case anymore. Russia is not even at top 10 countries with the highest alcohol consumption in the world, not even in Europe. Western Europe is worse. I remember my friends moving to Germany and telling me they were in shock at the amount of alcohol Germans would consume until i moved there myself. People walking around at 11 PM on a random Tuesday with huge glasses of beers, drunk and homeless people everywhere, people staying in line at McDonalds late at night to eat a burger while being visibly intoxicated. Or Dutch men who can barely hold a conversation sober, but need to drink excessively to the point of passing out in order to have a good time. Coming from the Balkans, i thought we drank to much, but western Europe changed my mind. Sadly, western society has a huge addiction problem. I feel like in their pursuit of personal freedom and liberation they lost their families and communities, they seem very lonely and start drinking, or watching porn or buy luxurious things that they don't actually need just so they can feel less lonely and empty.

@@bGzzzzz incorrect, my water/electricity is not a subscription service. I do not pay in advance for it and I pay for specifically what I have used only. Paying for an Uber ride is not a subscription. That is paying for a single journey and you only pay if you make a journey. You only pay for the fuel you use. By your definition, anything you pay for is a subscription. Please turn off your "big brain thinking" you're making yourself look stupid.

@@bGzzzzz yes, rent can be a subscription (depending on the contract). And no I don't pay that for utilities. You seem oddly angry about that matter, should get a therapy subscription.

The subscription model is a trap. These days every single virtual product seems to have a subscription model. You want extra storage on cloud? pay monthly, you want watching new movies all the time? pay monthly, you want a virtual credit card? pay monthly and the list goes on and on. These subscriptions pile on at the end of the month to make you poorer over time. You get trapped inside that rat race trying to pay off all your expenses, staying in jobs you don't like. The system pushes you to be more greedy and get you pay for things that you don't really need, whereas in nature, nothing is paid. Everything is free. But we've come to a point where we no longer even know how to grow a vegetable. I see many people buying ultra-processed food in excessive amounts without even questioning- Y'all say this shit is depressing, well if we don't put a stop to this, it will continue to be depressing!

RN here. Many people talk about “drug seeking” patients expecting to see some scraggly scrag asking for his Morphine but that’s not what ‘drug seeking’ has looked like since the 90’s. It looks like Barbara or William (accountants/managers/realtors) calling the clinic demanding the strongest antibiotics known to man because their throat is only ever so slightly itchy and they can’t wait to scarf down pharmaceuticals, or the diabetic patient who demands Metformin despite not seeing his primary care doc in 2yrs, doesn’t know if his blood sugars have even been okay, no diabetic retinal exam, and no vigilance of other health indicators while taking these pharmaceuticals; all they know is “I want pills and I want them now.” Needs to be studied

I was prescribed Oxy between the ages of 14-18. I had chronic migraines where I couldn’t function. I asked my pcp if there is anything that can be done other than pain pills because I didn’t like the way they made me sleep my days away. They said no sorry. I was never sent to a specialist and at 18 decided to try veganism because I saw that it helped some people online. I went vegan in 2015 and still am to this day. I have only had 2 migraines since and both were while I was pregnant (I’m guessing due to increased blood volume). These doctors need to be held accountable and stop profiting on medicating people when there are other possible solutions
