I dont fish. I dont even eat fish so I was wondering why Norm appeared on my KZbin feed. I've watched two videos and I enjoyed them. I can appreciate the artistry but his voice was very calming. Bob Ross of the fly fishing world. RIP Mr Norlander.

The best new trick for me is, with that rupper tube that holds the hackle out of the way, also like you bring dubbing on the tread, i try it (maybe i need this fine dubbing that you use) Many Thanks

I'm late to the game with a Norvise, and would have loved to have met Norm, but his legacy lives on with these incredible fly tying videos. I've been trying a lot of blue damsel patterns, and I like this one the best. Waiting on my Norvise to come in so I can try this one out. The manner of "spinning the dubbing" on thread or hook is simply genius... Not sure where to get white Northern Bear hair.... guess this was available a decade ago. Any ideas on a good substitute?

The profile of the fly looks great. Just curious how the extended body holds up after a few (or several) fish as its only held together by the cement vs. thread or wire. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hey Dan Sam-man, I have had my norvise for a few months now. I am loving it. How do you like yours? I started tying only about 8 months ago, and bought this vise shortly thereafter so I could learn to tie on it before the musle memory set in with the regular vise. I am so happy I did. It is second nature now to spin my dubbing on my thread. Especially those which were difficult to dubb like seals fur, angora etc. Piece of cake on the norvise. Norm your a genious.
