I am sorry Norm is gone. I bought my Norvise about 16 years ago and a better man representing his business does not and did not exist. Nor-Vise has gone down Hill since norm left. I could always speak to him on the phone about an issue I had and I never felt I was imposing. I know you are gone now Norm, but you have never left my heart.

I know more about fly fishing than I ever cared to after hours and hours of listening to this guy, simply because I wanted to relax. Thanks, Norm.

I'm late to the game with a Norvise, and would have loved to have met Norm, but his legacy lives on with these incredible fly tying videos. I've been trying a lot of blue damsel patterns, and I like this one the best. Waiting on my Norvise to come in so I can try this one out. The manner of "spinning the dubbing" on thread or hook is simply genius... Not sure where to get white Northern Bear hair.... guess this was available a decade ago. Any ideas on a good substitute?

No one does it as well or makes it look so “doable” -- thank you so much. I met you at a show in Anchorage AK -- you showed many of us the vise and accessories and even let me step up and make a couple simple flys. Naturally I ordered my full set and have been “hooked” on Norvise” ever since … even as a cheerleader - encouraged wives of friends to make the perfect present for a loved one the Norvise solution to fly tying . . . Thanks for being you!

I saw your tyeing in a compilation elsewhere! I'm not into fishing myself but it is very nice to see how flies are tied by hand, and your calm presentation is very soothing. I enjoy the craft and artistry, and must say that is a very handy vise. Thanks for the videos

i am just starting off and wonder if i should go for the best vine and have it forever or buy a cheaper one and possible up grade in a few years, what are the jaw size or could you recomend one for me as i seen several like yours , and really like how fast and great it would be to have one that spins. thanks.

Tell you what, watching what ease you show the norvice's use and I saw quite a bit of usability that's making the investment a more likely conclusion. It would definitely make tying a lot easier now that I suffer from MS. I tie flies now, and it is very challenging. But I don't give up, because tying is all that is safe for me. Meh Thank you for sharing 😁

Funny thing about the tom thumb is that when the fish are on those sedges it seems like it doesn't matter how torn up the fly gets they just keep hitting it. The best days I've ever had with a dry line have been on a tom thumb I must have tied hundreds of them.

I bought (and still have! lol) a Norvise and enjoy tying on it. I also, from early on, found Norm to be a true gentleman and thoroughly enjoyed watching his tying videos. I learned a lot from him and, along with many others, miss him on here. RIP Norm and belated condolences to his wife who, if she is like most women, probably put up with a lot of mess. 😊😊😊

I've used a similar fly with red and chartreuse colors that seems to work when nothing else does, no idea what it's called but a friend from Alaska showed me the pattern and said it was something his father had shown him 65 years ago, always seems to catch fish in rivers or lakes. That vice makes it look easy! Thanks for the video, headed to the store to see if I can find one now.
