I love how this game captures the look and feel of the 90s animated series its based on. And the music is pretty well composed too. It fits well with the atmosphere of the game.

If this were remastered, I would play as Robin.

This game on an overall note is aesthetically gorgeous but in terms of mechanics and execution it's hard to not prefer the Genesis version over this one. 🧐 Basically it's Aladdin (Genesis vs. Snes version) all over again.

Weird to bring up the fight aspect when the genres are different. BR - Beat Em Up B&R - Action Platformer

I think your summary of the game is exactly how I felt when I rented it at the time. It looked cool, but it just didn’t feel fun to play.

So he'll punch Catwoman in the face but not Poison Ivy or her goons? Not cool Bruce.

Oh man that fight looks brutal. Batman must’ve been holding back. I played Arkham Asylum back in the day. She would’ve had multiple broken bones and looked like hamburger by the end.

@AgentofLADON In the 1990s the media of that time period didn't like showing women getting into physical fights with men. Even though Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and her related gang are all villains, that era's media censored a large majority of women vs. men fights due to this antiqued philosophy.

@rossdavis428 yeah. Cartoons had a lot of rules which is why it was shocking that the game took such an approach with one level but not for another. Kid me often wondered how so many cartoon criminals, especially muggers, had laser guns. Plus the 80s cartoon rule on punishing anyone who had a different opinion from the group. Because if we want to beat the Soviets we had to all do the same thing as each other.

@@AgentofLADON Yes, you are correct; media always applies rules of conduct in order to fulfill a desired narrative. When I was a child, I was introduced to that narrative in many manners of presentation from different media productions. For example, TV Series such as Batman and X-Men showcased the narrative of "Equality" while TV Series like "Spider-Man" showcased narratives of "Chivalry" by comparison. The desired narrative was always the priority of presentation in those scenarios.

36:38 Pretty cool part of the game, kinda reminds me of GTA 1, 2 and London. Perhaps some Spy Hunter as well
