Thank you. I am 70 years old and Tom Sawyer was my favorite book as a young child. I have read this book many many times. Also I lived a Tom Sawyer type youth and I grew up on the Muskungum River in southeastern Ohio. What a rich and full adventure my life has been. Mark Twain, I'm sure has sent many a boy off into the world with a great perspective. Greg Chaney in coastal N.C

The story of Tom and Huck and Becky and Joe is the story of my youth and of everyone’s youth. This is a beautiful book and this audiobook edition is especially great, the reader did a wonderful job
Usually the Readers will say who they are- but not this fellow, and he is an AMAZING NARRATOR!! Wonderful tone of voice, fantastic change of voice for characters, and inflection and interpretation of how the characters would have sounded had they been there to speak for themselves: An overall enjoyable experience. I have never read this book (and I am a senior citizen) and am pleasantly surprised at how wonderful it is. I really enjoying listening to this creative and engaging story read by this expert reader. I wonder if he is a professional.

“Tom’s mental stomach never hungered for one of those prizes”....😂😂😂😂 My son would say, “it’s not that deep” to anything that remotely sounds like a task that attaches itself to some kind of generic reward. If he hears about that German born poor chap’s mental state following over stimulation while trying to file all those passages waiting to be recited just for a reward, he would take a week off his weekly reading just to feel angry about such circumstances.🤣🤣🤣 Our CRE teacher Mr Reuwel just caned us and gave us more memory verses on top of the previous that we had not learnt. He has died now and I know he misses class 4. All those poor victims of his that needed such whips to know God thru reciting verses in English that did not make no sense. If you are teacher here, please ask yourself why you teach before you ruin some kid’s life. 🧐 Anyway, Very inspired reader. Thanks

The guy reading the book did an excellent job of portraying the sarcasm and matter of fact way that Twain wrote the best parts, without overdoing it. The matter of fact explanations of why Tom thinks the way he does is the most interesting parts and he pulls the portrayal of that off perfectly, very well read!

Mark Twain would be mortified at the thought of schoolchildren being tested on their knowledge of his book. This was my first Talking Book , and Id like to thank the reader for making it such a great experience , with his adept skills in voice tone , switching between characters and engaging his listeners without over dramatising it. Ive never read any of Mark Twain's work , and I love how it can reach both child and adult audiences . Great elements of sataire and social observation. Its a sad but honest reflection of some of the prejudice of the age evident in some of its language . Im sure this has been widely debated. It took me back to some of my own childhood reading which included Richmal Crompton's William books. Many Thanks. R

A modern-day warrior Mean, mean stride Today's Tom Sawyer Mean, mean pride Though his mind is not for rent Don't put him down as arrogant His reserve, a quiet defense Riding out the day's events The river What you say about his company Is what you say about society Catch the mist Catch the myth Catch the mystery Catch the drift The world is, the world is Love and life are deep Maybe as his skies are wide Today's Tom Sawyer, he gets high on you And the space he invades, he gets by on you No, his mind is not for rent To any god or government Always hopeful, yet discontent He knows changes aren't permanent But change is And what you say about his company Is what you say about society Catch the witness Catch the wit Catch the spirit Catch the spit The world is, the world is Love and life are deep Maybe as his eyes are wide Exit the warrior Today's Tom Sawyer He gets high on you And the energy you trade He gets right on to The friction of the day

Wow you nailed that one there are a lot of songs like that with history in them he told it true right there some of the stuff I am not to appreciable because I am American Indian but it's real stuff he covered up some of the bad stuff made it seem pretty like from the point of view of a robber and murderer I guess you wouldn't want to say anything bad about yourself in your own song he makes it sound like a fun thing all the time in his song it wasn't fun for everybody it was like going and taking a bunch of your friends and relatives and going to somebody's house and do everything like at your house even have children there and then hope that they will forget when they see you everyday for 500 years Plus what you say about his company is what you say about his society because they are all US citizens corporate entities not American notice he didn't say anything about thatCatch the mist catch the myth catch the mystery catch the drift listen to the cloudy stories pay attention and listen to what I'm telling youToday is Tom story gets higher on you the American Indian today is Tom Sawyer gets by on you the American Indian his mind is not for rent not for God or government he does not believe in fake nor falsified entities God is real it is not what you think it is the general orderly directive and he has had millions of years to correct it in order to watch out for his children even the ones that are not his childrenAlways hopeful yet discontent they have everything but they want more and when they get it they are still not content they want more you are not suffering your children are not suffering exit the warrior why are there warriors in heaven he gets high on you he gets by on you like the best that would never go away and the energy you trade slave labor he gets right on to the friction of the day everyday he makes himself a pest to the people that allow them to live and their backyards doing everything that a criminal will do in a person's backyard knowing that they will get away with it because the criminals are running the government also he told it like it was he did that

A modern-day soldier with mean mean pride but don't put him down as arrogant? His reserve is a quiet defense/when the cops speak to you shut up riding out the day's events/ he will do nothing but watch and take advantage of whatever falls his way usually about the indigenous people losing their property and family

Mark Twain,Tom Sawyer, the incredible Orator, and then Rush. Doesn’t get much better than that. I am grateful I came across this after a severe accident to the shin bone. Excellent entertainment , excellent orator ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💚

I MUST HAVE READ TOM SAWYER AND HUCK FINN A MILLION TIMES A CHILD AND ALL THE WAY TO PARENTHOOD CAUSE I WAS VERY YOUNG RAISING 4 CHILDREN ALONE. NOW I'M NOT A YOUNG WOMAN ANYMORE AND I DON'T SEE VERY WELL. THIS IS THE UMTEENTH TIME I'VE LISTENED TO TOM AND HUCK. IT'S PRETTY MUCH WORD FOR WORD WITH THE BOOKS. THANK YOU GOD FOR AUDIO BOOKS.

I'm 40 years old and just heard the Audio Book. Twain is brilliant. His own life story is somewhat tragic. Very sad. I think he would have given worlds to be any one true character he wrote of rather than to have suffered the death of his own beautiful loved ones.

I feel like such an idiot for wondering why everyone was putting time stamps in the comments. I'm like "What? That part's not funny...why are you linking me to that part? Why is this guy putting a new time stamp on the comments every day further along in the book? Oh wait, wait- OHHHH BOOKMARKS!" xD
