A good pilot uses his altimeter to know when he's at 10,000 feet. A GREAT pilot uses the cabin crew announcements to know when he's at 10,000 feet.

Real world CRJ pilot here. Normally the hydraulic pumps should be set to Auto / On. All switches in the down position. ON position on the auto switches are placed ON during abnormal operations only. Nice video on you part. Well done. As far as climb profiles.. Set by the carrier. At Skywest we use 200 KIAS initially then 250 KIAS to 10K. Then a 250/290 to .74 climb in the transition up to final cruise altitude. But of course in the flight simulator world you can create your own! The turbulence button introduces lag into the autopilot system. And that will slow everything down as far as control response when the autopilot is on. Works pretty well most of the time except in Mountain Wave. Also be sure it's turned off before entering the terminal area otherwise we'll be too much lag and you overshoot courses. Should also be turned off during climbing and descending so you don't overshoot altitudes

It is a very nice aircraft. I think I remember the AeroSoft saying that the reason there is no Weather/Terrain radar in is is due to limitations on the SDK that they are from Asobo. As soon as they are able to, they will implement it. Same probably applies to the wipers and rain on windows.

This plane is not easy to learn. I've done four flights now and every one has had an issue. There's a lot to remember and the plane gets ahead of you sometimes. Mostly struggling with maintaining the right speed with flaps on approaches. Auto-throttle will spoil you

Best is not to try speed toooo exact and hunt values in decent and aproach. Try to stay around 150 and 140 at the inner marker.

Jeff always makes everything look so classy, smooth and professional. After flying the Aerosoft CRJ for a bit, I've become paranoid that I may be doing something wrong. On every take off of the CRJ my pitch (nose of the plane) always shoots up to 20+ degrees by itself even though I followed instructions to set the Take off trim properly (based on weight). It just feels like there is so much thrust that the plane naturally likes to pitch up. I may be doing something wrong, but rewatching this video over and over again, I can see that Jeff certainly has his plane under control.

Heya Jeff! Great Video! RJ driver here. during your preflight procedure, we don't select anything on the FCP. Instead we select the TO/GA buttons on the Thrust Levers. The FMA (Flight Mode Annunciator) on your PFD should read TO/TO (Takeoff/Takeoff) This will give you an initial pitch attitude for takeoff.
@hoagieflyer3 жыл бұрын
Another I noticed. Any yellow caution messages mean that something is not on. For takeoff, your Yaw Dampers were not engaged. You should see no Yellow or Red messages for TO and on the other screen you should see L/R REV ARMED (Green) and SEAT BELTS ON (White) MAN XFLOW (White) Takeoff profile: (this is general) V1, Rotate (Pitch 3 degrees per second into the Flight Director for TO) "Positive rate" Gear up, Speed Mode, HDG/NAV Mode (Set speed to V2+10) Climb at this until 1000ft AGL then select 200 or VT whichever is higher. Flap retraction schedule: Flaps 20 Takeoff (Above 1000ft select 200knots or VT whichever is faster) V2+12 Call flaps 8, at VT -15 Call Flaps up and then the PM performs the after takeoff checklist. Hope this helps with future departures!

At 17:39 the wipers are not wiping away precipitation (rain) at all. So much for progress. I do applaud you for mentioning it at 19:14. Come to think of it, my Train Simulator 2018-19-20 and Train Simulator World all have effective wipers that actually remove the rain, snow, and sleet. As a bonus, some of them have delay wipe mode. Very immersive in inclement weather to be honest. This special effect should of been implemented right from the start. Quite surprising that this effect went "under the radar" considering the superb detailing of the CRJ's. I do own many fine Aerosoft Software, for FS2002-FS9-FSX-FSX SE and Prepar3D. Aerofly FS-1-2 are also in my library. This is quite an omission in brand new FS2020. More so in a quality addon such as this one. Well deserved "thumbs up" on your informative video presentation. CYUL

10:15 you don’t select anything until in the air. Positive rate, gear up, speed mode, 400’ heading or nav, 600’ AP, at 1000’ then you can bring the speed back up to 200 and you will start accelerating towards an appropriate speed to retract flaps. It’s amazing how in depth and realistic the FMS is! Edit: in fact I’d say to leave flight director alone on ground as a way to remind you to hit TOGA before takeoff, as it will come up automatically.

The air conditioner comes on when you close the doors. Not halfway down the runway when everybody is sweating. This is not a Cessna and the Yaw dampener comes on before taxi. Also turn the AP off first before cutting fuel. There is a reason for ON/OFF of APU and a separate fuel button. Follow the checklist of the EFB more closely
