It's incredible that CBS US refused to release Various Positions and it was released later (than Europe Dec 84) in 1985 on the small Passport label.

I totally agree with David ‘s idea of ,if you have listened too much to Fleetwood Mac,go listen to to Lindsey Buckingham’s solo albums,especially the one he did with Christine Mc Vie in 2017.Sometimes very intense guitars on Lindsey’s work but I love that!Thank you Mark and David.

An old aquaintance of mine was apparently in Stourbridge Grammar at the same time as Robert Plant. The local urban myth goes that RP decided to leave school early, and the headmaster bade him a fairly warm adieu with the thought that he was never going to amount to very much in life. That's a complete laugh to me, as I know where his various mansions are in the West Mids. And I also used to know a farming family who lived near to both his properties in mid-Wales, and who were instrumental in helping him find livestock for his farm. They found him very sociable. Classroom twats have a habit of getting over it in later life, while cool school jocks often just progress to bad-tempered anonymity. (I still think Elon is likely to remain a twat until his dying day, however.) I can also remember being introduced to John Bonham in his own pub when he waa four sheets to the wind one lunchtime just before he snuffed it.

When Various Positions was released, Radio City (Liverpool) DJ Phil Easton held a competition to win a copy of the LP plus tickets for Cohen. It's the only time he held a competition and nobody entered. I hate Hallelujah btw.

Three Triffids albums means at least one of Born Sandy Devotional, In The Pines, Calenture and The Black Swan does not reside at chez Hepworth. Highly unsatisfactory and hopefully Mark can courier round the missing album(s) from his collection immediately to rectify this appalling situation.
