As another viewer mentioned in your previous video: they just hooked a moon to the date wheel. Lazy. This has nothing to do with moonphase, horology, but everything with marketing. Not my thing.

"Moonphase" isn't a moon phase. They hooked up a disc with some moon art on it to the date change mechanism. That doesn't some how make it a moon phase. That's like saying a watch with a 4th hand that rotates around the dial once every 18 hours is a GMT, because "it's sorta accurate for a bit." Deployant was 100% right in their assessment.

I still think the "moon phase" complication was lazily done. They just used the existing date mechanism. It's just decorative but non-functional. Just like a diving bezel that doesn't rotate.

This is just a picture of the moon where the date wheel would be. It isn't a moonphase watch, it's a date watch you cannot use. I stand by what I said before. This is just a fashion watch, nothing more. It's inaccuracy isn't an error, it's a lack of effort.

But they did not. The movement is a custom decorated Hangzhou 7 series movement.

@@chriscon8463 and it's not exactly easy to simply build a movement. there's a reason why watches with "in-house movements" typically cost a premium over off the shelf ETA/Seiko/Miyota etc. Like the Oris Aquis 400 is $3500 vs around $2000 for the Sellita version.

Second go around, same answer: the biggest supposed "pro" of this watch is supposed to be the in-house movement, which is its biggest let down as well. It's not a moon-phase, don't call it that, with that accuracy it's barely better than an AM-PM indicator, what it actually is is a date wheel with attached a "tin ugly blob" that goes around the wheel and pretends to be a "not-so-accurate moonphase". If your date complication or even your hour hand was 5 days off a month would you wear said watch? I think not.

It would be great if you could test the accuracy of the unknown/"in-house" movements on a timegrapher, just to find out the out the box accuracy. I do also feel the watch is overpriced for what it is

It's not actually an in house movement and it doesn't have an 80 hour power reserve. It's basically a decorated 8215 clone.

Ok I'm just gonna repost my comment from the original video: The movement is not in-house. Not entirely. It is a customised and decorated Hangzhou 7 series movement, that is used in cheaper watche brands that are also available on aliexpress, such as lobinni, boddery, etc.

I like the watch for the most part. Like Jory, I’m not the biggest fan of the name and felt like the logo was a little Patek Phillipe-ish. Even still, I think the logo would look better on the dial than the name itself. And yes. Remove “Moon Phase” from the bottom!

Still the same as before, still looks like a £10 supermarket watch of tackiness, the second hand looks like it has fallen off, the moon looks like a piece of card covered in tin foil off s polo packet, in short if had received this watch as a gift in a Christmas cracker, I would of thrown it in the bin, and kept the paper hat and the rubbish joke, the only way to improve this watch would be to drill a few holes in the face and add a few small ball bearings, that you could skillfully attempt to get into the holes.

Some years ago this brand was marketed with a mushroom history as a swiss brand with heavily photoshopped images of it's "heritage" and a pictures of it's swiss retail boutiques which was an IWC stores with shopped Agelocer branding lol. I think it's lazy. For the sake of changing the gear ratios on the date ring!!!. Moon phases are imho pointless for this watch an indication of where the moon is in the sky might be better I.e. rise zenith set and nadir. Actually I'd buy any analogue watch (that I can afford) if it had that complication. A very interesting and honest review. Thank you

I have one Agelocer watch which looks similar to a Cartier dial from a Santos... I like it and I also own a Santos black dial as well... for the money it's a good watch. My complaint with my watch is the caseback is flat and not curved..like a Monaco TAG. This watch on this episode looks great

The case would be better in flat pvd or bead blasted. A pillow case would have been more classic. Remove all the writing. The moon should have been textured and frosted not glossy. Less glitter with more gradient in star size. Accurate moon cycle. $400 is more reasonable. But as it is it's kind of garish. Great attempt though. Non watch enthusiasts will drool over this.

Só unfortunate that this watch is shit. It’s so unique that if it was done well, it would fill the same niche that chr ward does with their moon phase, and command a similar price tag. But this is only worth $300 in my opinion. If they simply wrote their name nicely, had a more refined dial with a tiny bit of blue loom on the index and hands, had a decent strap, and an actual moon phase it would b amazing.. instead it’s half assed with a price tag that nobody wants to pau
