You could do a video on Ostrigrow, sounds quite promising. They're even giving out a free bottle to test while a larger study is ongoing
@PerfectHairHealth3 жыл бұрын
Our research team is currently in contact with the principle investigators of their study. In fact, the entire conversation is open; it's happening inside a forum thread of our membership community. Specifically, one of our researchers is challenging the claim that the OstiGrow antibodies (1) do not enter the body, while simultaneously (2) affecting hair follicle proliferation - which requires barrier entry through the stratum corneum. It is a super interesting read. On a related note, two of our members are doing serum DHT tests before/after using the product. We do have a product review in the works, but it won't be for KZbin :)

Another way to look at this. If 50% of guys are bald, what’s the big deal? I shaved my head a couple weeks ago and nobody gives me a second look. It’s completely normal. We’re not talking leprosy here. I still plan on trying your ultra low percentage topical Fin idea though :)

Hi Rob. I am a subscriber from the UK but not yet a fully paid up customer. However, I wondered if you would give me a little advice about regime. I have been losing hair slowly for 25 years now and I would say I am currently about 5 on the Norwood scale of hair loss. Like you, I have tried just about every lotion and potion, without much success. Although, I may have been completely bald if I hadn’t tried a lot of these regimes. So I am now armed with micro needle rollers and a potential to sign up to a quarterly subscription of Minoxidil and Finasteride. However, there is one company that has a topical spray combining both 5% Minoxidil and 0.1mg Finasteride. With all your experience and knowledge Rob, advise me to use the combined spray at those topical levels, or a preference to a 5% Minoxidil spray and a separate Finasteride tablet at the higher dose of 1mg? Lastly, should I be using the micro needle roller before or after applying any topical treatment? Thank you in advance Rob. Kind Regards, Simon. (UK)
@nautical63 жыл бұрын
sorry i'm not rob but i can still help, a compounded solution of minoxidil and finasteride sounds very easy to apply compared to taking finasteride then applying minoxidil, both the foam and liquid versions seem more inconvenient to apply than simply spraying it in, granted it is cheaper then I would get that. i believe you mean 0.1% finasteride, not mg, which is for the liquid solution so actually it is the same dosage as 1mg finasteride however it has the possibility of a lower risk of side effects. lastly you should not apply your topicals before or after you microneedle because you would be getting it into the blood, also avoid getting anything in open wounds on the scalp since it can cause inflammation and shedding. if you want to apply topicals the same day you microneedle, you must wait 4 hours for it to absorb then shower it out as the scalp has to be clean when doing needling. make sure to not over needle, more is not better. just make sure the needles penetrate as deep as they should, and only go in once in each area of the scalp.
@PerfectHairHealth3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Simon! And thank you Nautical for the reply. Topical finasteride can work, and even with delivery vehicles like propylene glycol and alcohol, we’ve seen members of our community minimize systemic DHT reductions while (presumably) maximizing scalp tissue DHT reductions by sticking carefully to the usage parameters on the bottle. The problem is that at a 0.1% solution (roughly equating to 1mg of finasteride), only 0.2mg of that finasteride needs to go systemic for you to achieve the same DHT-reducing effects as the oral medication. So, if your goal with the topical is to avoid this situation, you’ll want to do serum DHT tests before and after usage for careful monitoring. If you don’t care about the systemic reductions, or if you experience systemic reductions and you’re not experiencing side effects, the much better (and cheaper) option is to simply switch to 1mg oral finasteride + topical minoxidil. You’ll save a ton of money and potentiate the same improvements to hair. Plus, you’ll have inadvertently vetted yourself for side effects by testing the topical. If you do stick with the topical, studies applying minoxidil 12-24 hours after wounding and directly after wounding have netted similar increases to hair counts. If your goal is to minimize systemic absorption, stick to what Nautical said and keep those windows longer. I hope this helps!

Please what do you think about bad posture and the streching of the galea muscle?
@PerfectHairHealth3 жыл бұрын
The galea aponeurotica is a dense, fascia-like membrane stretching across the top of the scalp. It is anchored to our scalp perimeter muscles, but it’s not technically a muscle itself :) The evidence connecting the galea / scalp tension to AGA is mechanistic in nature, so hypothesizing about what might increase galeal tension is sort of like hypothesizing on top of a hypothesis. I do think it’s possible for things like posture, jaw positioning, etc. to play an indirect role in galeal tension, but that doesn’t mean we should target these things as a frontline defense for AGA. We need more studies first!

With extreme efforts, I'm sure that it is possible to induce wrinkling from insanely aggressive massages. But at the pressures / intensities recommended inside our massage study, this seems (to me) implausible. If anything, I think stimulation-based interventions would do the opposite (improve skin quality and reduce wrinkles).

Question: miniaturisation happens at each shedding. However, does MPB in fact cause MORE shedding to occur (ie hair follicle cycle to speed up)? In other words, does increased shedding (say over the generally accepted 100 hairs per day) necessarily mean telogen effluvium or other cause, or can it also be due to MPB? Thanks
@PerfectHairHealth2 жыл бұрын
Yes! This 100% happens in AGA. It's called accelerated hair cycling, where our hair cycles shift from 2-7 years to just a few months. This shifts our ratio of telogen hairs > 20%. This is also another why telogen effluvium is the world's most common hair loss disorder: AGA technically fits its definition.

Good video on the subject of balding but as it is histroically there still isn't a proven method that absolutely reverses balding no matter the type of baldness. I believe there is link between PSA levels (BPH) and andrograpic alopecia as well as the muscle tightness along the periphal of the forehead so called enlarged forehead. Share video 1 or more the methods maybe necessary to overcome a type of baldness. My self am desparatley seeking some therapy but I don't a single method to help my cause.
@largepoodle60362 жыл бұрын
I'm seeing video footage en masse that show people with varying types of alopecia completely reverse their situation. I think it varies from person to person but I also believe there's an average percentage of people who have a great routine that may equate to a generalized demographic having good results. Basically, most people who are between 18-29 have the highest probability of reversing hairloss and maintaining it well beyond that age range. And if proper hair care happens as you grow up, chances are you'll completely neglect any shot hairloss would've had. I'm 26, adopted an insanely good hair and scalp care routine, and I'm amidst a complete reversal of male pattern baldness, to the point where my hairline is projected to be completely straight. Completely naturally. No min/fin. I'm documenting my journey and will release a timelapse of the regrowth in about 6-8 months from now.

My hairline is the same it's always been, but hair all over my scalp has been thinning greatly. I workout almost daily, I get sunlight, I sleep well, I have a good diet, I'm currently using Nizoral. @@PerfectHairHealth Can you explain why most women in general do not experience hair loss like men? We all know the statistics and even see it daily with our own eyes that the number of women that have balding are far less than men. Are you implying that women in general somehow have better blood flow to the scalp compared to men? Because the obvious answer seems to be the difference in testosterone levels and hence DHT levels. Which is why most women even at the age of 50+ are not balding, and even if they are, it is not as aggressive as balding men in their 50s.

Was this change accompanied by scalp irritation, redness, and/or flaking? Did this shift occur following a routine change (i.e., starting tretinioin, switching shampoos, etc.)? @@PerfectHairHealth No nothing like that. I have had a little dandruff but that is considered normal I think. I have never used tretinoin and I used head and shoulders once in a while, not even every week. I have actually taken a few blood tests and they show I have no deficiencies what so ever. They said that I have very healthy looking blood also. No nutrient imbalances at all. No gluten or glucose intolerance and no allergies. My hairs were thick and dark before I started with Finasteride in 5 of January. Then after I think I have lost a lot of thinner and not as dark hairs but I'm not sure though. I have been steadily losing about 50 hairs + since I started the medicine. It has gone super fast. My whole room was full of hair and I didn't realise something was going on. I thought 100 hairs a day was normal but I don't trust that theory anymore because I lost under 100 in a day but was still losing ground before I took any medicine. It must have started somewhere in 2019 because in January of 2019 I had a juvenile hairline but in mid 2019 I have noticed in some photos that I had lost hair by then. I didn't notice my hair loss until 2020 but didn't do anything until 2021. I'm on my way to try Oral Minoxidil. That is my last resort.
