The character designs are great! So vibrant and expressive, like comics from the sunday paper mixed with old fairy tales. Can’t wait to see it! Edit: incredible world-building, great voice acting, even the horror elements were super well done. Another GOBELINS short that I desperately want an entire series of. Ah, the character design and expressions are so well done! And I love that our Master doesn't really change, he keeps being his egotistical self but now he sees more use out of Leo, Maxime, Timeo.

He's not a bad guy, just in love with the image of alchemy that he fosters. He's perfectly okay with his apprentice coming up to join him in fostering that image too, most egoists would be threatened by having someone else show them up, even(sometimes especially) if that someone didn't realize they had done so.

​@@GreyAcumenyah, got the same vibes. He seems a little like Eda from The Owl House. Except that the Master seems like he still has a lot to learn about basic alchemy stuff. He seems to be more about the big and fancy stuff, doing alchemy "in style". But he also enjoys the company of his "student"

this film is so beautiful and creative but that detail really trips me up. I struggle to watch or play anything where characters constantly have a runny nose as a "cute" thing--it always makes me want to barf.

This is so amazing! The animation is super fluid and the backgrounds are so detailed, basically Ghibli-tier! There was so much personality and heart packed into the two characters too. Everyone who worked on this should be very proud!

When I stumble on the gobelins each year I remind why I love animation so much. I draw, I write, I made a videogame but I really really want to make something animated like this. I will. I fucking will. Thank you, you that made this, thank you. Making cool stuff is so incredible, it takes so much time but it is so worth it. The process of creation. I love it all. J'ai vu je pense quasi tous les courts métrages de la chaine et c'est de loin un de mes préférés avec Colza ! Quand il dit trop dangereux pour la prairie aux rêves et que tu vois plus tard que y a vraiment un casimir maléfique et que c'est vraiment méga dangereux c'est vraiment le détail qui m'a tué ahah avec la morve qui s'étale quand il tombe aussi vraiment des petits détails très très cool ! Bravo !

Ok ok ok, this is just so frickin awesome! First, I would like to commend the artstyle. It reminds me of old fairytale books, especially when they were going over the map towards the stone. Second, the animation is superb as always, it really fleshes out the characters, their mannerisms and personality are told to little quirks on how they respond to the environment and I love that! Coupled with the awesome voice acting, I may not be french, but they have those fluctuations in their voices that really indicate their emotions. Awesome work overall, especially with the worldbuilding. Honestly has me wanting for a series. Hopefully, there would be more in the future because watching this is such a treat!

C'est l'animation des Gobelins la plus amusante que j'aie vue à ce jour... le cri du lapin lorsqu'il est propulsé, suivi de la retombée de la porte d'entrée, c'est tellement bien timé ! Les expressions des personnages sont superbes également (je me suis repassé des boucles d'animation ^^) ; les expressions combinées aux doublages formidables ("méthodes pédagogiques particulières ?") rendent les personnages très crédibles. J'apprécie grandement le fait que les personnages ne changent pas de caractère tout au long de l'histoire : on échappe enfin aux sempiternelles "révélations héroïques".
