I was thinking this too, because in the actual game there's a reference to Alice and Fran knowing each other. There's a picture of her Alice in like a closet in her in the last segment of the game! Fran even talks about how Alice has a friend who's a talking or something about the white rabbit. Please forgive if I don't remember exactly what happened, it's been a few years since I've seen a full play through of the game.

One thing I think is worth mentioning about the twin scene is that it could be interpreted as referencing a Callostomy, which is a procedure that severs the interconnections (corpus callosum) between the left and right hemisphere of the brain. It is not a lobotomy (which is generally not used at all any more) nor used to treat psychiatric conditions but as a last-resort procedure in cases of severe epilepsy that aren't responding to drugs. It has a number of well known and quite fascinating side effects on the mind of the person who undergoes it but generally not anything like the side effects of a lobotomy; quite apart from anything else modern techniques are infinitely more precise than jamming a pick into your brain...though they do involve separating the lobes with a spatula.

I will admit, Im not sure that the queen that became the sheep was the red queen, but instead the white queen. Shes often depicted in both adaptions and the book itself as a nicer, but ultimately ineffectual counterpart to the red queen. So perhaps thats why shes associated with the sheep in that scene.

I don't think the queen we see is The Red Queen but in instead The White Queen from The Looking Glass which in that book everything is in reverse. I believe she might represent a version of Alice that she's wished to be but is held back due to her lobotomy, a part of herself that possibly in a lot of pain. Or it could represent who she once was but now restrained, the sheep screaming could be representing how Alice used to "yell" and "become violent" when in reality she was just a sheep in pain. Idk there could be a lot of ways you could see what The White Queen represents but that's just my take.

Though the one in the video games doesn't look like the iconic Alice you see in Alice in wonderland with blonde hair and blue eyes. Because the one in the video games has brown hair and green eyes.

Another great video from Soup dad, happy to see it! I do have an interpretation of the queen in the mirror tho. Given that she is clearly bound to the chess board and her head is that if a sheep, an animal associated with being a follower and docile, I think this queen represents Alice's mother who was unable to deal with Alice's illness. Constantly screaming and bleating at her to just be normal. I also believe she is the red queen as she would be the one responsible for sentencing Alice to her "beheading" at the end of an ice pick. The red Alice at the end would mean while she battled her demons, her Jabberwocky, this victory only came about in a way that led her to becoming more like her mother, at the cost of her individuality. Maybe I'm off the mark but t that's my thoughts on it.

I just watched the last video so I could refresh my memory, and OH, MY GOD IS THIS EXCITING I love this. The lobotomy is such a horrendous and gruesome process to think about. I consider it to be one of the more invasive procedures, and its insane that they let it happen as long as it did. I can't help but think about how doctors found this information out. I don't think it's normal to stab someone through the eye socket into the brain 😭💀 Off topic kinda; I think being lobotomized would be interesting because I wonder how you'd really think compared to how you thought before. Lets be honest here, that attitude is still far too common in modern psychology. I don’t know if this is intentional or not, but the Alice design here is extremely reminiscent of Alice from American McGee’s Alice (Peak Alice in the Wonderland-based horror) and in that game series, there are several allusions to lobotomy, in the second game, Alice dreams of being institutionalized and lobotomized, it’s extremely disturbing and dreary cause of how helpless she is, she doesn’t have her knife, she doesn’t have her gun, she can’t even move her arms.

Honestly, as affecting and disturbing as the Alice in Dreams videos are, the real story is potentially more troubling. The base reality that many brothels in Victorian England drew the moral line at eleven for sex workers tells you a bit about the unspoken-but-accepted draw grown men seem to have for young girls. Into this backdrop, then, unmarried Lewis Carroll (pen name) met his new neighbors in April of 1856. He thereupon made ""fast friends" with Alice, and frequently would accompany her on walks through the park grounds surrounding Christ Church Cathedral. I don't know myself if her family ever objected--all I do know is that letters remark on several teas taken with Alice on the lawn, or in the forest, or in a local kirkyard. And as a photographer, Carroll talked Alice into being his subject. So, we have no *direct* evidence that anything untoward happened--though Carroll did gush about his love for the young girl and the perfection of her limbs. And, being that Alice was a minor celebrity, there are pictures of her both before and after her marriage to Reginald Hargreaves. And, as was common for the day to hold still with passive face, many Victorians end up looking depressed or stern. But if you go back to the earliest photos taken--though there may have been more that were never released--Alice looks deeply angry. Her eyes nearly burn out of the image towards the viewer--or, in her case, the photographer. These are also the photographs in which she's wearing the least clothes, so...there's that.
