I don't think it was accidental. Ut was very intensional. The alien in the beginning sacrifices himself to provide the genetic material to create life on earth.

There's a lot of unreasonable hate for this film. It is actually masterful and very underrated at the least. People seem to find reasons to dismiss anything new in an old lore. Fantastic addition to a great franchise. Just another story for people that are interested in this universe.

Perfectly habitable planet? Earth was utterly uninhabitable until microbial life forms shat out enough oxygen gases for it to become what we now think of as habitable. The Engineer shouldn't have been able to breathe the toxic mix of chemicals present on a lifeless earth. Alternatively, if they want to pretend that there WAS oxygen on earth at that time, then it would HAVE to be constantly renewed by life forms present there (atmospheric oxygen is too reactive to remain in the atmosphere for very long), which we don't see. There are no plants and no algae blooms visible anywhere, so this is DEFINITELY a planet without any atmospheric oxygen.

It was not a mistake. In fact if you see the followups you will understand that humans were never the outcome. They (humanoid aliens) wanted to develop the Xenomorphs and humans were supposed to be the intermediary. Something goes wrong with the containment and the humanoid aliens were nearly wiped out and went into hibernation. When they were awakened in the end they realized the mission was not complete and the human development was advancing which was never their original intention. So they tried to launch the craft to deliver the black gooey payload.

I recommend looking into the dialogue of the engineer and David that was cut and never made it into the movie. It's more biblical. They indeed wanted to create humanity, but humans weren't acting properly and weren't living based off their initial teachings. Humans were way too violent and destructive to Eden(referring to Earth). The engineer doesn't mention Jesus by name, but he says we took one of yours, taught him what to teach the people and sent him back to Eden(Earth), only for him to be killed. That's why they made Shaw as a Christian. They cut all that out to leave it open to speculations like your own', which I think was the right thing to do, but some of the other dialogue they cut should have been left as it answered many questions from the entire franchise.

I agree with the comment above mine. It was even broken down that the facehuggers were on that isolated planet as more of a military base, not where the creators actually lived. They used the xenomorph as a weapon, like we do guns or nuclear bombs, and kept the weapons far from their own homes knowing th dangers that is posed. The entire purpose of their mission was to end life on earth because we humans did not end up the way the creators intended and they "needed" to wipe us out.

For me the big question Shaw wanted answered was They created Humans and then changed their minds. Why? That is a profound question I would love to see explored. I would love for the Engineers to have internal politics and complexity and a source for why things changed for humanity and not a simple answer.

People talk about the Xenomorphs, Engineers, Humans and Predators, but everyone misses that the Androids are seemingly predisposed towards God complexes. The only one who hasn't tried to kill his coworkers was Bishop. The thing I find interesting is that the Blade Runner franchise is quietly part of the Alienverse, from what I understand. I wonder if the Replicant situation affected the way Androids saw humanity or were they just programmed to be amoral.

16:40 , This mask looks like lord Ganesha.Movie starts with a hawt looking blue alien drinking ..poison ??{why bro (・ัω・ั)}as a ritual and it creates humanity. Indic god is represented with cyan/light blue color.Blue represents the aura of god and color of Cosmos(since Indic beliefs consider god as cosmos itself and us humans being product of these universes,the scriptures talk about multiverse too ; i really wanna see a movie about that (≧▽≦) ). Anywaysss back to topic~ According to one epic ,Lord Shiva drinks poision to save humanity after a ritual between demons and deities (lesser gods/angels) went wrong,the poision is called halahal. (Remind me of Valhalla for some reason 🤔). The poision is so strong that neither deities nor demons can handle it so lord Shiva decides to drink it in order to save humanity and everyone else . The poision was acquired after churning the cosmic ocean(wut?? Seriously idk which ocean was that but i said cosmic cuz it looks sexy just like that). The churning was done for obtaining vial of immortality {what that boss dude wanted} .As a result his throat turns blue ,the poision deposits in his throat and for this ,he was given name "neelkanth"(literally blue throat) If we compare this "case study" to movie plot,the lone alien drinks poision (ewww) which creates humanity,the appearance of cylindrical things in the cave (shivlings perhaps? ; They are stone pillars representing shapelessness of lord Shiva ,the non avatar and actual form)And appearance of snakes (in physical representation he have snakes around his neck;snake festival(s) are also celebrated once a year in different regions of India as per their local traditions). All that seems so similar. Remember movie Avatar? Director of movie said he was inspired from Indian epics and as you can see in movie, the symbol on alien's forehead (Avatar) ,their color ,their rituals ,their connection with trees, their love for animals,their prayer for animals after hunting; was similar to what was ritual in ancient india when ppl used to hunt and thank lord for food and thank animal for it's sacrifice to feed the people. What if this liquid, alien gulped was actually 'Le jus d'immortalité du cosmos' 🤌 ✨???
@MilkMocha56
@MilkMocha56 Жыл бұрын
In epic ,the ritual was churning the sea to acquire essence of immortality(that's what the leader guy was talking about ? Immortality?) and poision was acquired from the sea ,drank right in front of sea by lord Shiva so i am 80% sure it was inspired from that. So that also helped me understand the theory behind some scenes and movie looked good-ish to me.some people in comment section said they were too flabbergasted by movie xD

I really liked this movie. I wished they followed Shaw and her journey in covenant instead of what we got. Keeping her as the main lead of these prequels. I hate that most Alien movies never have more surviving members but the characters in this film were really likable. Very reminiscent of Alien 1 and 2. In regards to the Engineer at the beginning of the film, I do believe that the 1st Engineer came to Earth and did sacrifice itself but wasn't aware of what the side effects would be on the planet. I think the other Engineers found out - learning of the development of the offspring of life (humans) on the planet and became enraged by it. Thinking it was against their possible code, so wanted to eradicate human life.

It wasn’t an accident at all. The Engineer that drank the “black goo” did so as a form of punishment by the other Engineers (hence why they remained present until he actually drank it). “Prometheus” is the name of the Titan God that, according to Greek mythology, gifted humanity with fire after stealing it from the Gods. He was then cast out of Olympus as punishment.

This video is made by a person who has not looked into the lore of the Engineers and basing it only on the theatrical movie edit. There are over 30 deleted scenes, interviews, and other material that deep dive who the Engineers are. The movie was originally written to have heavy ties Christian references but the final edit removed nearly all of them and how they relate to the Engineers. Considering the Engineers were heavily motivated by their religion, removing all that from the movie made it a nonsensical mess. I don't blame the author of this video for coming up with their assumption based on the theatrical release. It's just a shame that all that really big idea storyline was cut out.
