+TheKanjiX actually technically an alien from that burst from a human is technically a hybrid. this is due to the fact aliens that burst form a species take on characteristics from that species i.e how aliens that burst from dogs only walk on all fours and aliens that burst from predators have it's mandibles. This is thought to be due to the fact that this helps the aliens in the way it makes them similar to their host therefore making them more suited to their enviorment

My personal favorite is Aliens(2). I love it when then marines go down there almost knowing what to expect, but become completely overwhelmed. Alien(1) had the best tension moments although I watched Alien(3) when I was a kid and the idea of being locked up, with a murderous killing machine scared the piss out of me literally.

Alien Isolation was beautiful, and initially terrifying, but I stopped playing after I watched the xenomorph walk within two feet of, and right past my character. 100% immersion breaking. The human AI was equally flawed in that they would somehow spot me across massive, dimly-lit rooms, and yet not even notice if I happened to run past just a few feet in front of their faces. Perhaps this has been patched since, but ultimately I just classify this, along with the Star Wars Battlefront reboot, as an artistically beautiful walking simulator of one of my most cherished sci-fi film universes.

In Alien 3, I remember the xenomorph having survived the molten lead with flying colors and no apparent massive injury. If anything it just seemed to be more pissed off. It was ultimately the relatively cool water from the sprinkler system that sent its super-heated exoskeleton into thermal shock, causing it to explode and die all over the place. I remember because I thought it was a pretty clever bit. Was this an alternate cut?

The first alien movie I ever saw was Alien 4: Resurrection. As a result, it is my favorite out of all the alien movies because I watched them after so I was working backwards. It's strange to see so many people seem to not like it. Totally love Prometheus as well. Looking forward to the next installment.

AVP and its sequel AVP Requiem are earlier entries in the series - set before Prometheus in terms of chronology, Predator 2's showing of the skull is the first and pre-dates them being set in 1997.

Thanks for reminding me of the nonsense that is Prometheus. Just rewatched Alien and Aliens again this week and feel completely in love with them again. They are both amazing at what they do. Alien is pitch perfect suspense and horror. Aliens is pitch perfect thrills and action.Prometheus just makes me realise that even with all that money, the biggest and best effects In this day and age and a cast of famous and well regarded actors, it all counts for absolutely nothing when it's all thrown into a poor story with no clear purpose. It's ironic that they spent so much money building this world only to pale in comparison to the original. I know which one feels like a real lived in world I can believe in for 2 hours and it's NOT Prometheus. Prometheus is a big dumb popcorn movie you watch on the big screen and then forget the minute it's over. Alien is a well crafted masterpiece of tension and scene setting and it has stayed in the minds of millions for almost 4 decades. So yeah......not looking forward to Blade Runner 2

I am 40 years old and probably saw Alien a little too early growing up, had nightmares for quite awhile lol I've watched many times since, and have always found it to be the creepiest of them all. Without the visions and original drawings of the late H.R. Giger, this idea of Aliens would not exist. I'm very excited to see what happens in Prometheus II and Alien 5.

The alien wasn´t killed by the molten lead, it was killed by the sudden contrast of temperature when the water drops upon him, and the rigidness of his exoskeleton proves unable to bear the huge tensions of quenching. There´s even foreshadowing halfway through the movie when that bucket cracks open after the sprinklers pour water on it.

Ivan Bryansk In the AVP series a new breed of aliens called the Praetorian guards would guard the Queen. This is a knockoff or nod to the Praetorian Guard name of the Romans. The Praetorians would grow into a new Queen when it died in AVP. Because AVP is not canon, they do not exist in standalone Aliens and Alien games and especially movies. I don't know why idiots comment saying this when the original movies came way before this idea from video games. If you want to see what Praetorian Alien looks like, look it up on Google. I also have many AVP and Alien videos for you to watch if you want to see more on them in the games.

it is possible that the ship that crashes on LV223 is not the same one on LV426. There is a chance that there was a ship they(the engineers) attempted to send out previous that contained the same liquid to produce Xenomorphs, which happened to land on LV426, where Alien picks up the story line.

+CurtisAlfeld there are two different cuts for the movie, the assembly cut and the theatrical cut. the theatrical cut was of course the one to be released in the 90's wich was poorly edited since they locked the director out of the editing room, that's the main reason why alien 3 is so hated, since at release it was actually a terrible movie. in 2004 though a new cut of the movie was released (altough the director complitly divorced the movie and had nothing to do with the new cut) called the assembly cut, this one actually made sense, and was a really good alien movie, this one is where the alien is born from an ox instead of a dog, a lot of things and cahracter development is added too, plus new effects, some scenes deleted etc. the other reason why people hate alien 3 is because they killed newt, though i always hated that character so it wasnt bothered by it.

1. In Prometheus, the alien ship was found on LV223. At the end of Prometheus, it was wrecked on that moon before launching away. How was the ship later found (in Alien 1) on the moon, LV426? 2.Why is the prisoner planet (Alien 3) listed as "Double Y Chromosome...Facility"? The prisoners did not have XYY karyotype syndrome.
