I think he's on the up and up... and I definitely think it started with doctoring the debriefing (cleverly, if clumsily,) and this was an appropriate test, getting their feet wet as more than fire support (which they passed,) but I think he knows exactly what he's doing when he dispatches Sarge and the Squad. SPOILER I mean, their next two Interrogators are Chaos-tainted and then he puts them up against a true investigation and a Chaos Marine. These guys are his ace in the hole and he knows it. His mission has escalated beyond a cold war this time. As it comes to a close, cloak and dagger tactics aren't going to cut it anymore. He needs these guys.

I have listened to and personally read this story no less than 2 dozen times, and I only just now caught the Storyteller's clue through Alfred the the guns were "a little wierd". To those not into the lore, Ork psykers are called "Wierd Boiz". Alfred just flat told them it was Ork Psychic energy.

Warehouse was packed with idiots attempting to commandeer my stuff, crazies making threats, Dwarves demanding back pay, messengers with declarations, a priest of a xenos god, knights, civil guard, a princess, my stuff, and myself. A real shit pickle situation.

One of the kingdoms, the one who's princess was in the warehouse, Jank (actually Jankultith something or another) declared war upon receiving news that the kings daughter was here (the kingdom of Krankoplang? Just call it Crank) and the king had gotten killed. The other two kingdoms, Lunk and Chunk, that declared war was just a land grab against a kingdom in shambles. The other kingdom, Tinker, was dealing with agents of chaos while recovering from the recent war.

The Dukes and Lords of Crank were all present at the warehouse, all trying to get a piece of the metaphorical pie. They had no intention of heeding any of my "suggestions", they intended to divvy up the kingdom into smaller ones; by their own damned monologue, as well as their loyalty to the elves and intentions to kill the infant prince. They had everyone's ears, except for the princess and I.
