I've got this drill and it's my favorite also I use my flexvolt batteries on all my flexvolt and 20v dewalt tools and they fit them all.

Oh that 20 min light function is so sweet it’s super bright and the fact it will stay on for 20 min let’s you take your measurements in the dark and do other tasks with light.. no need for a secondary light, headlamps always work and are nice.. great tool I love my dewalt.. Coming from a former loyal ridgid/makita fan and owner. The slow dewalt transition is taking place! Next investment, the 120v (2 60v) cordless concrete saw... can’t wait to test her out!

My old brushed drilled finally died was thw big one right before brushless cam out. I used the flexvolt on it and it came alive for a brushed drill would literally pin you in n the corner in low range. Absolutely loves the amount of power it had when flex volt batteries came out. Wishes i had changed the brushes out but it sounded like the gear box itself locked up. But after probably 10000 holes im satisfied lol

Same here. But i think its the dewalt 12v batter style that isnt gonna work too good. I have the m12 ratchet. And i tend to use the smakker battery 95% of the tine with my kine if work. I just don't see a dewalt ratched with their 12v battery working if it limits the size
@bossmanz284 жыл бұрын
@@dangerousfandango5943 jus gotta put the battery in sideways like the ingersoll and kobalt. Will be plenty comfortable but yes m12 is still a little more ideal with there battery style

I just got this drill w/ the 6ah flexvolt battery - never used a chuck like this before - some ppl just ratchet it tight in one direction, while others do that and then add another step by twisting back in the opposite direction until it clicks once - is this to lock the bit in? Why do some do it and others don't? (btw, that extra step isn't mentioned in the Dewalt instruction manual) - anybody got ideas on this?

No I don't use DeWalt's Flex Volt battery in my jobsite. I only normally use the small 3Ah, 4Ah or The 5Ah (Amp Hour) Batteries for my DeWalt Dcf 894, 888, 809 and 801and they do just fine!!! What makes the difference though is the battery cells everyone knows that the 21,700 Cell Lithium Batteries are more Powerful than the Old 18,650 Cells. Which is I think the 21,700 Cells are the ones that inside in the new DeWalt's 4Ah Compact Battery. Same thing on my Ryobi's I don't have 6Ah and 9Ah battery, either my Hitachi's Triple Hammer Multi-Volt Impact Driver I'm still using the Hitachi's compact 3Ah battery pack. If I'm gonna be needing a Flex Volt battery or Where and When do I needed it the most??! Probably If I have a DeWalt's Flex Volt 12inch or 10inch Cordless Sliding Miter Saw or 10" Cordless Table Saw!!! But I don't needed it because my sliding miter saw is corded I can run it for the whole day. Otherwise If I'm gonna be needing more power especially on a much heavier duty drilling jobs then I'd rather use my Bosch 1/2" HD-18 Corded Hammer Drill or my Bosch Bulldog Extreme Corded Rotary Hammer Drill.

Battery I think it has 21,700 cells and some design tweaks I saw another video where someone swapped out the battery with previous model and it worked exactly the same as this one so I would go with cosmetic changes to the hammer drill an improvement to the batteries cells that's it and I wouldn't buy the kit because it comes with that pesky 887 that DeWalt needs to redesign do something to prevent it from overheating
