I’ve been toying with the idea of buying one of these when I return to the uk. I do prefer the pre-facelift models because I think they look better, they also fall into quite cheap insurance groups. Definetly on my shortlist. I’ve always liked the MG brand, because while they may be made in China, they still design and engineer cars in Longbridge. A lot of the modern Range Rovers are built in China, and we still call them British despite the fact they are owned by India. So give MG a chance guys, they’re decent British cars that are built in china. I like them

Looks better than a Dacia Duster and an Opel Crossland - that's about it though. Also, what's with those horrible tiny wheels - it totally ruins the look of the car and makes it look out of proportion!

Pretty poor quality film. you need to ignore the classic Ad approach and do something fun. take one out and trash it .. speak to car throttle if you want real impact on KZbin: Make people be aware of your brand and what it means. People know the sad truth of MG. if your going to come back with storm, be brash.

Im picking up my black excite gld on Monday but still have my gold rover 75 tourer V6 auto connessiuer se which is a 51 plate with only 76000 miles on her.havnt the heart to sell unless made the right offer as it's still sounds lovely and most comfy car I've owned and not too many tourers in my model and age with only 76000.ive got to get a starter to solinoid kit as it's always started first time everytime all of a sudden the lights not coming on dash so takes a few turns then lights up starts drives as normal.weird

What’s the 1Ltr Petrol auto like for reliability and mpg? I understand that the engine was designed by GM Motors and the automatic gearbox is from the Mini is that correct?

It's about 40 to 42mpg but I don't drive like a maniac. The car doesn't want you to drive like a mad man. It's happy just cruising.

From personal experience the 1.0 turbo is quite dependable, the auto isn’t bad either
