I had purchased this pattern a while ago but not made them. I actually thought they were a knit pattern so when you said woven that was a surprise. I love your tropical pants - that outfit looks great on you. I have skorts I purchased at Costco a few years ago that are my summer go to gear. I have been looking for a pattern to make my own so THANK YOU for tossing that in at the end. Guess what will be on my sewing table this weekend! Take care - Becky

I made the cropped pant, the shorts, and the skirt in the last few weeks from the previous version of the pattern and loved them. Now I am going to download the new version and make the skort hack you showed. I love that! Thank you for sharing. I am learning so much from you.

Morning Kim, I received the email from Love Notions and didn’t have time to look at it until Saturday night, so I didn’t get it for $5.00 but it was still on sale for $9.00. When I was looking at all the tester pictures it was yours that made me buy it. That little outfit looks gorgeous on you. I didn’t go any further than your picture and went straight to the checkout. Thanks for keeping us all sane at this time. I think we are all ready to have family and friends around but keeping our distance. I think we will slide into a new normal however that may look. I love your top and the tropical pants. The sport is a great idea. I use to wear them a lot but unfortunately I have too many varicose veins to wear short items. I live in maxi skirts and dresses in the summer. I enjoy seeing the makes from other. Jennifer and Winnifred both hav3 done lovely jobs. I especially like 5he little girls striped dress. I loved sewing for my daughter when she was little.

Love Notions is my favorite company, but I've just wasn't sure about the Allegro. It seemed too youth/active wear oriented for me, but since watching your review, I've taken the plunge, bought the pattern, and have cut it out and ready to sew as I send this comment!!! I am a newbie to your channel, I am a quilter so I know my way around a sewing machine. I have never made clothes and want to know if patterns that call for stretch fabrics can be made in cotton fabric. I live in Australia and do not cope with the heat and I think I would be too hot in anything other than cotton, please advise. I actually came across your channel accidentally and you have inspired me to give clothes a go! Oh by the way I am an ‘apple’ I have no waist!

Thank you! Generally, stretch patterns are for knits or stretch wovens only. There are some lovely organic knits- cotton jersey, bamboo to name a few.

Hi Dorothy! I have the updated version, but don't like tight pants. Is there a way to make a very slight boot cut or a little more than straight cut on them?

Was it easy to leave out the faux fly and front pockets?

Yes, very easy. I just cut off the fly extension and extended the center front seam all the way to the top. For the pockets, just cut them without taking out the slanted triangle for pockets
