So Kinger apparently starts to remember things whenever he's in the dark. In ep 2 when he has the bucket over his head, he remembered Ragatha's first day at the circus, but as soon as he takes the bucket off, he stops remembering. That little scene and how he's always hiding in this pillow fort were foreshadowing that moment in the hall...😢

Someday in an episode or canon comics outside of the show I just want to see Pomni talking with Kinger in the fort or just progressively hanging out with him more. It doesn't even need to be a main focus at all, if we just get little snippets here and there of them doing that I'd be happy.

The creature's head on the wall has Kinger's eye disposition as well, and unless I missed it I couldn't get a good look to see Kinger's head on the wall like the others. Paired with his comment later in the episode about "seven years just for this", makes me think there's more to Kinger than anyone is letting on. He's been here the longest, after all.

This honestly might as well be the best episode of the series so far, as it really made me see Kinger in a whole new light. Kinger has officially become my favourite character, and I loved the more sombre, introspective moments despite how terrifying that monster was. It's tragic how he had to lose both his wife & his sanity in the Digital Circus, and it's even more tragic when you realise Kinger makes his pillow fort so that he can keep the darkness to retain his memories of his wife and keep his sanity as stable as possible. The scene of Kinger & Pomni walking together to escape Hell was such an emotional & sweet moment. Great episode. 🥺☺

This is genuinely the first time ive ever cried to an indie show. Between Zooble’s therapy session (which hit a little too close to home for me) and the stuff with Kinger plus his conversation with Pomni, it had no right going as deep as a did. Honestly favorite episode of the series so far (Also boom did technically call the stuff with Kingers wife during the pilot reaction, so good job Boom!!)

Kinger is right there with Ice King as misunderstood, tragic characters who reflect the difficulties of Dementia-like troubles on them and the people who care about them. I'm assuming it's also like the Ice King in the sense that he can't remember much from his non-lucid moments other than that one true love who held him together, but can still remember blurs of importance and the emotionally connections to people and events.

A King & his Jester Goes to a Hunted Manor 👻 - First Kinger is one of my favorite characters which I love the lore from him learning about his wife Queenie which Gooseworx confirmed that to be her name, & plus this would explain that during Ep. 1 he keep mentioning a insect collection when he came out of his pillow fort & while down in the Glonk cave - Baron Mildenhall is voiced by Tim Alexander - Martha Mildenhall is voiced by Marissa Lenti who also voices Gangle - Ghostly is voiced by WizardWiz - As for references to other media Jax uses a vacuum to capture ghost which has been used in many different series & the light from the head’s mouth has light which might be a reference to deathlights from Stephen King "IT"

This episode establishes that the entire purpose of Caine’s existence is to make adventures. He’s not just making them to help them pass the time. It’s literally his entire purpose as an AI. We don’t know what causes abstraction exactly, but maybe it’s the idea of a lack of purpose. So maybe Caine was in danger of “abstracting” there.

Another thing, when kinger saw the insides of the head of the beast i literaly said " you looking beautifull honey". Because of the darkness and all those eyes he confused the mouth with his wife when she was abstracted.

Kinger was truly the MVP of this episode! I loved learning about him and honestly I hope we flesh out some of the other characters like this! Maybe next episode we'll get to learn about Jax and the context of that "...minimum wage labor" line from the teaser.

i think the moment where he was gazing in the monsters mouth is when his mind became fully lucid in this episode seeing all those eyes inside must have reminded him of his wife abstracked form as from the elevator onward he starts being sane

My theory is that Developing Short-Term Memory Loss was Kinger's subconscious way of keeping him sane after so much time in the circus Because Jax said at the beginning that in theory Kinger is the one who has been in the circus the longest, so maybe after to much trauma, his mind thought that the best way to remain sane was just to forget most of what he sees It isn't ideal and It clearly affects his personality, but at least that ensures that he is not going to abstract (at least I think so…)

Damn you guys are fast! Gotta say, I wasn't expecting this episode to go this hard, I'm genuinely blown away by this series each and every episode. I'm not sure if anyone has suggested this, as compared to Murder Drones and this, it's pretty obscure: Meta Runner. It was GLITCH's first production, and though Drones and Circus have much higher quality, it's still a pretty good experience that I'd recommend! The first season is cut into a movie on the GLITCH channel, if you're at all interested. The series revolves around video games and e-sports, and honestly has a banger soundtrack. Sorry for the longer comment, on the off chance this is read, keep doing what you guys do!

Jax is DEFINITELY an NPC. Not only does he break the 4th wall, his physics are different, he's the only one actively tormenting the other players, and in the first episode, while all the characters are sitting and eating at the table Last Supper style, Jax is sitting in the place of Judas Iscariot, the traitor. Change my mind!

The darkness brings back some of his memories, some of his old self. I doubt people actually age in the circus, and I also doubt they are transported into it too, Kinger did Computer Science which means they are working in the real world to make a game on VR that, probably scans their brains without killing them (or maybe it does). But I prefer to think that they come into the game to test it and to watch what their copies will do and how long they can last until they break, Kinger is just experiencing the effects of being in the circus for so long, his memories are failing him probably due to stress. Still I love how this explains so much about him. the fort is extremely huge it seems, which is probably Cain's doing, and before he lost his wife, she looked calm and even sad for losing her form before being put into the cellar. Finally, he always remember something when his head is in darkness,but he loses it right away in the light, which is probably something that traumatized him so much, it locks his memories away so he can't go crazy enough to abstract. I sure hope they eventually tell everything about this and don't let any plot holes, this show is so damn good.

You know with this episode, film theory is already on it. My theory is that Kinger and his wife ( maybe named Queener) created this place whatever it is. His wife was probably the female looking kinger character that was crossed out in the hallway with the rooms. This is the first time we’ve seen any relation being here together, ragatha or the others didn’t mention being brought here with friends, family or what have you. Also Jax said in the first episode that Kinger supposedly has been there the longest which would make sense. But very good episode. Can’t wait for the next one.
