Sir Darci It's gonna need a whole new rework from the ground up to become anything worthy of a heavy sniper. Don't get me wrong I love the thing to death But I think they would be better off just creating a new arc heavy sniper.

I just want Bungie to get off the weirdly inconsistent design philosophy high horse and just let Snipers as a whole be extra meaningful. It's like Garden of Salvation threw some circuit, broke their brains, they slashed everything, and then act like heroes when they had that meaningless "now snipers can 1 shot body a red bar" buff......something they basically already did and obviously not a good use of ammo. Snipers aren't totally useless, but they should be a bit better, especially for how long they've been a bit whatever.

@@NinaFaenation I fully agree with you. Snipers have either been a joke or mediocre and a few times they have been meaningful was because we had something in the artifact that made them meaningful. And when was the last time we had a heavy sniper exotic weapon. I know a lot of people in the community want another heavy sniper that can actually compete whisper of the worm. I mean if they're going to take ideas from other games divisions 2 Nemesis sniper is something you could do in destiny just make it arc.

I use prismatic celestial nighthawk with microcosm. It’s a job done great for GPS great for everything. I also use the fragment that buffs my golden gun by applying a darkness debuff so I’ve got the Shein. I’ve got the desk field grenade that I’ve got gold, gun, celestial nighthawk, and microcosm and then Also got transcendence

I prefer using relativism over NH simply due to the charge rate of goldie as it is considered a roaming super without night hawk. Can run star eaters and a neutral perk for lfg scenarios

the problem is standard goldie isn't beating nighthawk in damage and it also takes longer to get the super off which means less time to shoot your weapons so I just prefer nighthawk. you could technically just take nighthawk off after a super though.

@SneakyBeaver I thought star eaters does about the same total damage on goldie? With relativism you get the benefit of running something like foe tracer and star eaters with quicker recharge rate on goldie. In the damage phase of vespers last boss you can get easily 2 off and providing you get feast of light back you can do more damage and have foe up after. Might need testing tbh

How would this change when the seasonal artifact mod that reloads choir of one is gone. Would you substitute with reload holster armor mods?

Depends on what the artifact will have. You could also use your reload dodge specifically for choir and try to time your command proc to that as well.

Still hunt is perfecion if you're using celestial, but it's not like you have to use celestial, hunters have a very diverse subclass selection.

@@helios9296 when it comes to DPS choices specifically, you really can’t beat nighthawk. It’s an instant 700k-1M. Only thing that even comes close is gathering storm but the damage isn’t instant. Goldie has access to prismatic which means another 5% bonus for your weapons so IMO there really is no diversity, nighthawk is just in a diff league (from a damage super POV) Still hunt naturally pairs with it, it’s GG in a gun after all. But unlike nighthawk itself, I think it can be replaced, hence the vid.

I was running this when choir of one came out. Such a fun build, but envious assassin is broken with load out swaps. I still have the load outs on my warlock ready for surge swaps.

Is there a specific point in the animation to hit goldie? I more often than not cancel the whole transcendence by hitting my super too early for it to just animation cancel, defeating the purpose of doing it in the first place.

This dps loadout also works pretty well with a foetracer (or foetracer class item) with tether... then your teammate can use a GL as well and you keep the 30% debuff, while giving yourself 4x weapon surge :D

@@Tomahulk fowtracwr can also be used for this as well. Can technically pop nighthawk. Swap to foetracwr and throw a smoke, then be able to get the roaming super boost to get Goldie back faster and swap back to nighthawk. Unfortunately a lot of ppl aren’t too fond of loadout swaps for these so I didn’t emphasize on it.

siphon mods + special finisher typically you don't have to farm ammo when you're rallying a flag for a boss fight though

nighthawk does more damage than 3 shot goldie w/ star eaters plus you'd be in super animation longer which means less time to use your weapons. If you want to swap to a diff exotic after shooting nighthawk I think it'd be foetracer.

@ clown would require you to manually reload which is already worse. You can only account for 1 marksman dodge before having to reload. EA/ALH are just better and more consistent esp when concussive reload goes away.

Yeah and in my opinion it did not need that nerf. Cloud strike literally does what still hunt does but it has AoE and you don't need to use it on a certain class to get the most out of it

Still hunt is nowhere near where it needs to be, since it’s nerf I rarely see it anymore outside of witness. For vespers host hunters only took up ~7% of all guardians. Unless a boss is at some kind of range where you can’t thundercrash them, titans reign supreme (and frankly TC needs a nerf).

Not every boss is going to be designed to be ideal for still hunt. Even then, divinity exists. You're also forgetting a very important part about hunters and vesper. Tether was disabled for 3 months and titans/warlocks had an answer to the big issues of the bosses, so of course hunter numbers would be bad. As far as titans go, they have an artifact that boosts T-crash AND its bugged doing too much damage. hardly a fair comparison to make.

@ I’m sick of this “bugged” argument. If it was bugged they would’ve said something by now. Tether despite being disabled wouldn’t have been used for the Puppeteer. They move too much and it’d be much more valuable to use something like Goldie, the problem is that TC is just better and also has a better neutral game. (Also the artifact provides weaken through GLs) I was this 🤏 close to switching to Titan on day one for Vespers because doing it on hunter was just so miserable. Golden gun requires so much more for less of a payout and due to nerfs I highly doubt we’re gonna see still hunt being used for the next dungeon unless the boss is far away, then again people will just use whisper. With all the arc buffs we are DEFINITELY seeing more TCs next episode.

Can you make builds that are just you solo. These builds are somewhat unrealistic as far as how much is needed to get to the dps you are getting to.

I've been making build vids the whole episode, I only got 2 hands lmao. Also, this will still be fine when concussive goes away. Your smoke weakens and you can use marksman dodge for choir reload when needed..

I love Still Hunt. But it zooms in WAY too far. Its like a 30x scope. It sucks. But i moved away from it after two weeks. I expierment with guns all the time. Bad Juju has become a stable weapon in my GG build. Even Dragons Breath has been good. You dont *need* SH.

​@SneakyBeaver i gotta disagree. To maximize GG, Still Hunt for DPS phase is still a must for Hunters. It really is situational. I still see people doing LFG and saying it's a must. While you may think still hunt is "worse" somehow, I'll also disagre that it isn't the best possible dps. And my counter to your GG nighthawk is that you could add one more to every phase. But okay 😂
