It's the subtle things that makes it so great - like the way the camera is still "moving" when Attenborough's clearly paused to make it look like he's not paused. Awesome!

Sen 千 the bird is absolutely capable of reproducing those sounds and instruments. In fact, there are other people who bring their phones play some songs and the bird copies them verbatim. The camera sound is not edited, that is from the original footage.

The Lyre bird is not like a parrot it can actually pick up some sounds after only hearing them once, At a zoo in Germany they were remodeling and the 2 lyre birds started immediately imitating the skill saws and hammering and the work men talking to each other, They also learn from hearing other so sounds one might learn can be bouncing around the forest for many years. by many birds. To the doubters out there look up the actual facts before you criticize!!!

I can say that this video is true as i was at a zoo once with Lyre birds and they could mimic ALMOST every sound they heard except very high pitch ones like screeches don't know if they can but it was fun to hear one say : Shake that butt over and over again. Still remember that day from since i was a mere lad.

I'm from Australia and the lyrebird has the most elaborate voice of any bird in Australia and yes it can copy a human voice to that extent, but the fact that it trold David Attenborough by copying his voice and then pretending that it wasn't the lyerbirds doing has gone and cracked me up laughing 😆😂😂

I would teach mine how to say stuff on cue. I would teach it a lot of songs and test answers, that way if I snuck it into school on a test day and secretly let it run loose around the classroom, with a flick of my pencil or something, that way he'd/she'd shout out the answers to the whole classroom. :3

Look up "lyrebird" on here, the first clip is the original one from BBC. They can do upwards of 20+ different species of birds' calls, car alarms, and even the sounds of chainsaws cutting down trees.

If this was fake, they need to correct the wikipedia page on this bird. I quote: "The lyrebird is capable of imitating almost any sound and they have been recorded mimicking human caused sounds such as a mill whistle to a cross-cut saw, chainsaws,[7] car engines and car alarms, fire alarms, rifle-shots, camera shutters, dogs barking, crying babies, music, and even the human voice."
