The thing is, Sony got sent notes from Marvel executive Alan Fine as well (he's the right hand man of Ike Perlmutter *cue sinister music*)... and ignored them too. They are absolutely right about Avi Arad though, this movie showed that he clearly didn't know what he was doing. In fact, the hack revealed that Amy Pascal, who was the Sony Studio Chairwoman at the time, was seriously considering replacing him with someone else as the head producer of the Spider-Man movies. Then again, she stepped down shortly afterwards when racist comments were revealed in the same hack about then-US President Barrack Obama through a conversation she was having with Scott Rudin (I think) - who has a reputation as having one of the biggest tempers in all of Hollywood. Man, terrible people ALWAYS run in the same circles.

The problem with the Basement of Origins at the end wasn't the fact any of that particular technology had been developed and existed in any form, but that it was all presented in its final form. Imagine in _Batman Begins_ if Bruce went to Wayne Enterprises and met with Fox, but was taken to a coded locker and inside was a full batsuit - ears, logo, cape, batarangs, everything already there and ready to go. @@creed8712 I’m going to have to disagree with you there, partially because it isn’t fair to assume everyone seeing the movie should just know who the characters are from the comics and make no attempt to establish them But also because the DCEU is one of the worst offenders of this in my opinion, they went from introducing Superman in their first movie to half assedly introducing their versions of Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, the Flash and Aquaman and by their fourth movie they brought those characters together without ever establishing why the viewer should give a shit

The movie tries to explain this by saying that Peter's blood could cause Harry's condition to accelerate, which doesn't make any sense. Why can't Spidey tell Harry that his blood may be incompatible with him? Harry is the CEO of Oscorp, a company that has the best scientists in the world, surely they could have devised a cure for him using a blood sample from Peter.

@@jaredballoonboy7944 I feel an easy way they could've explained it, since Peter is a science nerd, just have him get a sample of Harry's blood, do some tests on it with his, and have him find out his blood is actually incompatible. Peter wanting to help his friend but finding an actual supported reason why he shouldn't give Harry his blood instead of just going "Nah" would've been a lot more sensical.
