Great information about an overlooked aspect of Trinidadian history and culture. Might I suggest you add the words Carib/Arawak or Taino in the title so it generates move views?

Taino can considered a precursor it would be like calling them American Indians. although can be correct, not quite. there are differences. i'd like more about their Pantheon. what their take on existence/Beginnings was.

I am Garifuna, our culture was created in Saint Vincent ,with the mixing of Arawak indians and Africans. I met some first people from Trinidad when I visited Saint Vincent last year during Heroe's day celebration. I just posted a video talking about the Garifuna culture, we are all the same people

Amerindians have it so hard they face so much hard ships throughout all the Americas or most of it by all Non Amerindians to some complexity and leveling

The word "carib" is not an Amerindian word, it is an old Castillan Spanish word, meaning "cannibal" or "flesheater". See the video on my channel.

Show people the black àra'wak & Tainó pictures from the archives 👌🏾.they don't look Indian or Mongolian . the native look àra'wak black, red cooper colour to light brown with red hues . Go to the archives you will see .

Pure Amerindians were more akin in appearance to South East Asians then they were to Desis, Sub Saharan Africans, Far Easterners, Europeans, etc yeah.

Unfortunately, some inaccurate info. Columbus landed 1498. The Spanish colonized 1532. Not no 200 years. The Encomiendas and Missions were the same. The Amerindians were required to work. Required. That's why there was the Arena battle and massacre of 1699.
