I’m twenty and I’ve attempted suicide fourteen times within the past three years, and not to mention I almost died in a car accident a few weeks ago (and that’s after going a whole year without self-harming or attempting suicide). The vast majority of the people I’ve ever loved have either died or left me behind because they realized how damaged I was. This past year I’ve made some amazing friends and met the girl of my dreams, but obviously a lifetime of feeling worthless is hard to move past. This is the first time I’ve listened to this song in years and the one line that I totally wasn’t prepared for was “It’s sink or swim, and you’re too strong to drown.” I realized that that’s how the people who love me, the ones who are left, feel about me. It’s ludicrous to think that I’m still alive after the amount of opportunities the world has had to kill me. But I’m still here.

my favorite line is for sure "you hold my hand and I'll hold yours and life won't feel so wrong" because we know they're there for us, but they can't actually help us at all, except to make the world seem a little less shitty, and honestly that's all we need to get on our feet and fix whatever we need to with ourselves and our lives. I'm just really loving this song all around and the video is out of this world, they really got the story down solid.

Amity affliction is the band that has come along since then that I have been loving. Many nights drunk in the garage after my kids are asleep jamming on this band. Countless hits. BUT F.M.L is the absolute best they made coming from someone like me who used to make this kind of music. Peace!

It's as if Amity writes some of the most amazing songs and you think "wow this band is so good they couldn't get any better" then they turn around and write another life-changing album. Although they will probably never see this, I just want to thank Joel and Ahren for always having music to get me through the toughest times in my life. Lifts us up, lifts us up, lifts us up Let me hear you sing it, oh Lifts us up, lifts us up, lifts up So when the last light fades Shine on Shine on, young love You hold my hands, and I'll hold yours Then life won't feel so wrong I know you're hurting like I am I know your heart's in your hands We share a life so bleak With broken memories Shine on, shine on, young love You've lit the fires in my heart, and I won't give that up So shine on, shine on, young love You know we're all sinking together, but this lifts us up Lifts us up, lifts us up, lifts us up Let me hear you sing it, oh Lifts us up, lifts us up, lifts us up Don't let the last light fade Shine on Shine on, young love We'll burn these fires bright Let's blaze our past into the night Because it's been too long And we have been too down So now it's sink or swim And we're too strong to drown Shine on, shine on, young love You've lit the fires in my heart, and I won't give that up So shine on, shine on, young love You know we're all sinking together, but this lifts us up I've felt as helpless as you Felt the will to give in Let your heart open up Let the healing begin Fight your way to the light And fight the will to give in It's sink or swim And we're too strong to drown It's sink or swim And we're too strong to drown We'll take our time and make a change This is our chance to sail away We'll take our time and make a change This is our chance, don't let the last light fade Shine on, shine on, young love You've lit the fires in my heart, and I won't give that up So shine on, shine on, young love You know we're all sinking together, but this lifts us up Shine on, shine on, lifts us up You've lit the fires in my heart, and I won't give that up So shine on, shine on, lifts us up You know we're all sinking together, but this lifts us up
