The Amount of talent on that stage is absolutely mind blowing! I hope you guys enjoy my reaction of Queen Save Me Live in Montreal.
Also, I have videos to upload but Im waiting for a few to get cleared as I don't react to anything twice and I don't fake reactions. We want to keep things as authentic as possible so you guys know the raw version of me.

Amen, to you Sister Sally. I’m 64. I enjoyed Queen when I was younger, but sadly I took them for granted. Today I absolutely LOVE Queen. It’s not a nostalgia trip. I enjoy music of all types and eras. It’s just taken me a long time to realize Queen is the greatest band ever.

@@katehaynes5735 yup my freind from schools' brother used to listen to them and i wasn't even into music then ,... it passed me by ... even when i did get in it was mostly jazz and pop so i was late to find rock and even later to really appreciate freds' work as you said ... truly "brilliant" , also visionary , inspiring , innovative and emotionally present will be sorely missed , if only he were cherished whilst alive to the same degreee he is now , maybe , like a fine wine , the true measure of greatness only comes with time ...after you've been bottled

Several cups of beer, and other beverages, on the piano with only a couple of sips taken from them during a concert are kinda one of Freddie’s trademarks. Pretty sure he used beer just to wet his whistle cuz he also wanted tea with honey and water on the piano during concerts too. Sometimes he had glasses of champagne on the piano. I only saw Queen in concert a few times but I don’t remember Freddie ever emptying a cup of anything by drinking it, although he sometimes would toss water into the crowd or all over his own head when it got really hot. But especially given the amount of energy Freddie used in concert, I don’t think there’s any way he would get drunk from drinking a bunch of sips of beer while performing. And he certainly did not show any signs of being drunk in that concert. Thanks for doing Queen reactions!

Thank You for clearing that up! The only thing I DON'T like about the reactions to the live performances is that almost ALL youngsters refer to Freddy being drunk, when clearly he's not.
@jazzlefettie
@jazzlefettie Жыл бұрын
@@leeannsheridannicolai1806 It is does amazing how many people comment on ‘all the beer’ on the piano and until someone corrects them, they think Freddie was really boozing it up during concerts. I’ve read that when Queen first started, Freddie didn’t drink alcohol, smoke, or do any drugs due to his strict upbringing. But that gradually changed and eventually Freddie smoked and had vodka shots before, and sometimes during, concerts, along with the occasional beer. I’ve also read that cocaine was often involved too. And he liked to have champagne while in the studio, especially to celebrate when they were about to finish recording a song. And they say that the very shy bass player, John Deacon, drank the most alcohol of the 4 of them for concerts, and that he had a rather well-equipped traveling bar just off stage that he regularly frequented to calm his nerves. But out of the hundreds and hundreds of live performances, Freddie was visibly under the influence only a couple of times, which truly amazes me, all things considered. Compared to what many other bands were doing during the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, what Freddie consumed was close to nothing, but younger people don’t realize that cuz, I guess, tv and movies make them think that if a rock star drank or did drugs, they were useless and could not function as a live act musician, when the truth is that many of them did that (or do that) stuff just so they could (or can) function as a live performer, on stage, in front of tens of thousands of people. Freddie put a lot of pressure on himself to be as close to perfect as possible. I am not advocating drug use, but I can understand why he used them, under the circumstances. As Freddie’s career developed, and he learned more about how to keep his voice ready for the hours and hours of intense use while rehearsing and performing, especially while on tour, Freddie increased the amount of water he consumed and he always had tea with honey available on his piano. I think younger people simply see all of the somewhat random looking cups on the piano and they jump to the mistaken conclusion that Freddie performed drunk. They don’t realize what life was like before bottled water was available everywhere. Plus, the easy-to-take anti-anxiety and anti-depression meds in wide use today were not even available back then, either. And many also don’t realize that the concert or arena sponsors wanted lots of their cups with logos on stage as product placement/advertising (for example, Heineken at the ‘81 Montreal concert and Pepsi at Live Aid in ‘85.) As a baby boomer, I was at concerts where performers were occasionally too messed up from drugs to perform the entire set list. But I saw Freddie in concert a couple of times in SRO Queen concerts in the late ‘70’s/early ‘80’s, and each band member performed incredibly well and did not seem under the influence at all. In the presence of Queen, it never even occurred to me to wonder whether they were sober or what was in the cups on the piano. In fact, I don’t think I even noticed the cups on the piano-I was too caught up in their music and how incredible the performance was. I’m simply grateful that Freddie existed and that he shared his musical gifts with the world in my lifetime!

There is one performance in 1976 i think or 79 where he was drunk and he absolutely nailed Bohemian Rhapsody with alternate phrasings, proving that even when drunk he knew the limits of his voice in any situation.

Zanzibar lost a young boy but the u.k and rest of the world gained 4 legends. I was 8 years old when I heard queen for very 1st time I could hear this music and screaming and cheering from my bedroom it was 1982 in my home town the bowl, Milton Keynes in the UK and queen was the very 1st music band to play at the bowl in Milton Keynes, uk and never heard the music before I didn't even know the band was until I went to school the following Monday and some of the kids was talking that there parents went to the concert. From that weekend I came a huge fan and 40 years on I never get bored with listening to there music I have to get my queen fix everyday queen is my drug. I even have a shrine as my kids call it I have a cockateil who I named Freddie I even have a replica of he's famous yellow jacket which I payed a lot of money for. My biggest regret in life I never got a chance to see the band in concert as was only 15 years old and just started my exams when Freddie passed away. Few weeks ago on the queen official yt they uploaded a video of unboxing a platinum vinyl for the first time of 6 beautiful colours disks on vinyl with a beautiful glossy book of photos and my son shocked me buy purchasing it for my birthday. My birthday was 11th June and was being released on 17th june and the first 2000 people who purchased the album set get a beautiful large image of there queen crest and my son was the 1175 person out of the 2000 to buy it for me. I absolutely love queen I can't listen to any other types of music and extremely hate hearing anyone else's trying to sing any of there music if not Freddie singing I never listen to it. Freddie lives on and always have a place in my heart ❤

With show time approaching, towels and drinks for the band’s refreshment on stage would now be strategically placed: water and beer for Fred, beer for Brian and Roger and the Backstage Bar for John, comprising water, beer, soft drinks, wine and whatever spirit or cocktail he fancied at the time: Southern Comfort, vodka or tequila. - Peter Hince (aka Ratty), Fred’s and John’s roadie and head of Queen’s crew.

I love this Song so much, Dr. Brian May wrote this but Freddie gave another meaning when he's singing it, and he sings it beautifully💛 bless him🌹. yes Queen is just simply Talented, they were so clever in that stage you can see from the very beginning while Dr.Bri playing the piano, he's guitar was just on his lap ready for his guitar solo and Freddie's singing and Hitting those high notes while running down on stairs. Just clever and smoothly flows together. Pure talent! Pure 4 genius in one stage!🤟👑

I get chills every time I hear this song. Takes me back over 40 years to when I got to hear this live, in person, at Madison Square Garden in September 1980. Great song that didn't get a lot of airplay, there were a few others on this album that did. It's fitting this was the last cut on the record. For future reference Queen was a group who every member, Freddie, Brian, Roger and John, each wrote at least one number 1 hit song.

You obviously love music. I do too. FYI Queen's members were equally talented in their contributions. Each of the four members all wrote at least one #1 hit. If you Google Queen's hits--look at the writer. Their portfolio is awesome and many of these songs are used in commercials today. "Who Wants to Live Forever?" was written for the movie "The Immortal". Queen also wrote the score for "Flash Gordon" movie. Exquisite talent. Be well. I hope you see this.

He's doing this drunk, you said, probably not drunk, just oiling the vocal chords. It's a well known fact that before the Live Aid concert, Freddie had a sore throat, but several large vodkas back stage before he went on, sustained him through the 20 min set. Although there is alcohol on the piano, there is also lemon water, again for the vocal chords, this is what he throws over the crowd at the beginning of Under Pressure live at Wembley. Great reaction as always my friend, just wish you'd put more content on YT.

Save Me was written by guitarist Brian May about a friend’s difficult break-up! Later, Brian stated it was indeed about Freddie! According to the timeline IMO … it was when Freddie’s boyfriend, Joe Fanelli broke up with him! They were together between 1978 to 1979. Joe later became Freddie’s personal chef. Brian wrote Save Me in 1979 and it was released in 1980. Great song!

Has Brian actually mentioned Joe? It claims that on wiki but the only quote Ive seen didnt mention him. It just says friend...fkd up relationship.. Joe and Freddie didnt have a bad relationship but Joe couldn't cope with not having an open relationship, having to be careful in public... It ended up affecting him Being in the band was a big part of Freddie not being able to be more open or direct though he did in a way So if the band was part of the reason things were difficult its odd Brian would write a song about it Glad Freddie and Joe became friends again though

...especially when on the previous album Brian had such an issue with DSMN ( Freddie was with Joe) Saying he saw it as sepratism and said he had a go at Freddie for having gay overtones in some of his songs

@@bluebell3720 “Joe Fanelli, a dear friend of Freddie’s who became his personal chef was wonderful, good-natured guy, and was a dedicated vegan, but used to cook all of Freddie’s meals, which were generally steaks & wherever. And his cooking was always judged to be great. Quite amazing that he did that. He was only young when his friendship with Freddie ripped him out of his home life in the Midwest, but he was cultured & gentle & stayed loyal to the end. A good man was Joe Fanelli.” - BRIAN MAY *the extraction came from Queen 3D* Brian wrote Save Me in 1979 the same year Joe & Freddie broke up! Maybe it is coincidence ??? IMO

@@debramoore7513 'ripped him out of his home life ' !? if that's how he wrote it in his book did Brian think Freddie kidnapped him? in the article I just found and on the linked Instagram it says 'he left his life in ..' but the fact they split up in 79 only means it is possible the song was inspired by their brake up but as I said due to the reasons and wording of the song it would seem a bit inappropriate if it was about their split up you said Brian said it was about Joe and Freddie but where did he actually say that? I can't find anything in relation to the song only that it was about a friend

@@bluebell3720 It was only my opinion that it might be about Joe .. The timing was right and Brian seemed to like Joe very much! The “friend” going thru the difficult break-up was confirmed later by Brian to be about Freddie! That’s why I preempted my comments with “IMO”.

You have to react to “Action this day” , “staying power”, “Fat bottomed Girls” and “somebody to love” live at Milton Keynes 1982 and do you know that Freddie has a solo album with beautiful songs like “Made in Heaven” “living on my own” “mr bad guy” “man made paradise” or “love me like there’s no tomorrow” 🤍 you definitely should listen to these songs and “there must be more to life than this” this song was a duet with Michael Jackson but they never released it so Freddie put it on his solo album 🤍 there are two versions of the song the Duet also called “the golden Duet” and the Version Freddie singing it completely alone 🤍 please listen to the songs you’re going to love the songs

He had his bed under a piano so he could make songs laying in bed. He would just reach up and play it like it wasn't something special. He also sang Opera
