According to him being a dwarf actor is extremely hard when you're trying to land serious roles. He was picky. He worked hard. And eventually he landed the roles he wanted to. The reason this scene works is because neither of them knows why the other is doing what they're doing. Finch is understandably mad at Buddy for being unintentionally ableist and doesn't know that he's a legit elf, and Buddy thinks he found someone from the North Pole and is confused as to why Finch is beating him up

True since from Miles Finch’s point of view he was insulting his dwarfism and just wouldn’t knock it off so you can’t entirely blame him there.
@robertdubs94662 жыл бұрын
Miles and Walter were both unintentionally sympathetic in this scene. Miles was basically being relentlessly mocked for his disability, something he had to work really hard to overcome, and Walter, as a result, had to helplessly watch a huge deal derail, which put him in danger of losing his job. Plus the fact that both of them repeatedly told Buddy to knock it off, but he just wouldn't stop. Therefore, you can't really blame either one of them for snapping the way they did.
@catguy49962 жыл бұрын
True. Buddy may not have known that being called "Elf" is offensive to some, but he does understand to leave when his father asks him to. So he could've just gone back to the mail room. On top of everything else that was stressing out Walter, you can see why this incident made him finally snap
@Mario874569 ай бұрын
True while Buddy wasn’t trying to be insensitive since having grown up around elves most of his life it makes sense why he would think Miles was an elf, he didn’t get the hint that he should have stopped even though he was told to leave the room and Miles gave him plenty of warnings to stop he didn’t do that for some reason you can’t entirely blame either of them for losing it since as far as Miles is aware Buddy is mocking his dwarfism and just won’t knock it off even though he gave him several warnings to stop though getting physical with him was taking it too far and Walter having put up with Buddy’s weird behavior for weeks and having a potentially golden opportunity being unwittingly ruined by him that could have helped him out of his business troubles, it’s no wonder why he snapped and said some hurtful things in the heat of the moment though he did go a little too far in what he said. So yeah both had every right to be angry but they did not handle it in the best way possible.
@TheSocratesofAthens9 ай бұрын
To be fair, Miles should have understood that there was something "off" about Buddy. It goes both ways. If someone lacks the capacity to grasp their actions and you have reason to know, you shouldn't use that as an excuse to take your anger out onto them. Buddy acted like a man-child and his father's reaction made it clear that the former wasn't fully aware of what was going on. It's not really Buddy's fault: he grew up in an extremely sheltered environment where no one really bore ill-will against anyone else. Further, Buddy made no effort to fight back and looked scared and confused. This is yet more evidence against Miles' behavior under the circumstances.

What do you mean they have anger issues? If you didn’t notice violence was not the first thing Miles resorted to. He was in fact very calm about it at the start and brushed it off as a harmless joke. It wasn’t until he wouldn’t stop after being told numerous times to do so that he snapped. Walters anger is also very justifiable. This was a big business deal that could’ve saved his company but a bumbling idiot who he’s only known for a short amount of time just came in and ruined it. It may not have been what buddy was intending to do. But that doesn’t change the fact that he did it. Do I blame buddy? No I don’t but I also don’t blame Miles or Walter for being angry.

@alvexok55232 жыл бұрын
@@awesomeninja9178 I came up with a theory now on why Miles said "no farms" to the other guys' farm ideas but had an idea himself about a peach on a farm, it's that Miles really just didn't want to use someone else's ideas, he only wanted to use his own. But he didn't want to tell the other guys that so he just blew off their ideas by simply saying "no farms". I'm not sure what Miles' response would've been if the other guys questioned Miles directly about why he can use a farm idea but they can't, because before Miles could even pitch his peach idea, that idiot in the elf costume barged in and ruined their meeting and Miles (rightfully) kicked his ass, and then stormed out
