Kapp’n is a kappa! A yokai with a turtle shell, a bowl on its head (notice the odd shape of his head), and a duck beak! In new leaf, he would take you to tortimers island, where he lives with his wife, young daughter, and his mother (in-law? I can’t remember exactly). His daughter would buy items from you but for very few bells while playing shop with you. His wife was in charge of signing you up for island activities, and his mother/mil had a shop that you’d pay for using rewards from aforementioned island activities.
