Dinosaur Reaction is today's video!
Hey everyone! Join me as I watch Dinosaur for the first time today! The animation was so beautiful in this movie I could not stop looking.
This is the story of Aladar (Alfre Woodard), an iguanodon dinosaur raised by a family of lemurs. Their world is turned upside-down however, when meteors strike, turning their green world into a desert wasteland. Teaming up with a herd of other herbivores, the trek is on to find the "Nesting Ground" where water and vegetation is bountiful... but with carnivores behind them and nothing but desert around for miles, it doesn't look promising!

Personally, I think Disney’s Dinosaur is underrated. I watched this film in theaters and continue to watch it every now and then because it’s a cool Dino flick imo. The animation is good and the music is great too, as are the characters.

Also, the dino that took Aladar's egg is an Oviraptor, whose name quite literally means "egg thief".

I saw a documentary about this film and they used real explosions in the island disaster scene. Then they flipped the recording upside down and then added the animation and you get the end result. That scene no matter how many times I watch it gets my heart to race. What an amazing film. (FYI Aladar is an iguanadon)

I thinks it’s pretty cool to know that the voice of Sebastian, the crab from The Little Mermaid(Samuel E. Wright) is the VA of Kron. May he Rest In Peace.

Despite what it looks like, this is not the extinction meteor. That meteor landed in the gulf of Mexico area, and because these are lemurs this is somewhere around Madagascar when it was still very close to Africa.

The part when the pteranodon flies over the waterfall and the music just climaxes with the animation looking so beautiful, never fails to give me chills 🥶

"I don't know what dinosaur that is". That's an Iguanodon. You can tell cause of the characteristic thumb spike.

This is honestly an underrated movie. The one scene that stuck with me most, since I was a child, was when the main characters were barging through the cave wall. Really shows the power and will to survive through their slamming.

While the scenery could’ve so easily been done in CGI nowadays, they actually came up with an awesome method for it with on-location shots. They went to all sorts of locations and biomes around the world, then spliced individual elements together into new scenery. So in one shot alone, you might have a beach from Hawaii, a jungle from Africa, and a sunset from Monument Valley. Something they didn’t HAVE to do, but a cool way of making the land familiar yet new and wild!

“Then we save the half that deserves to live.” Pretty cruel but true, herds that were followed by predators would often leave behind the old, sick or weak. It kinda acts like a mutually beneficial relationship if you think about it. The predators would be fed by taking the ones left behind, while the rest of the herd would survive, eventually breed, then some day later their offspring would possibly go through the same thing.

The best scenes are hands down the intro, the egg’s journey to the lemur island, the meteor sequence, and the carno cave attack. At least those are mines and I love this movie especially cause as a kid I saw this movie like a million times where my family got tired of me putting it on💀. Ugh and the music is so good in this movie.
